Question for UK people

I'm British but live in the US, and I'm going back to England for a visit next week.

I've got a big shopping list of R2 DVDs. My question is though, is it cheaper to just order them from the USA via Bensonsworld or Blackstar, or will I find them for decent prices in Virgin/HMV etc?

Its always cheaper if you order from the net although HMV/Virgin sales do have the occasional bargain.

and you probably have to pay VAT when your purchasing in the UK.

I agree - I also recently went back home to the UK and found a buy one get one free sale on at HMV and picked up a lot of the Farscape Packs I was missing. As well as Kagemusha and Mike Bassett England Manager. Picked up some BBC releases very cheap from my local WH Smiths also. The most I paid was 9.99UKP for a DVD. Actually I was quite surprised how cheap DVDs were in the UK.

Now is a good time to be visiting the UK, DVD-wise. The biggest bargain at the moment is HMV's copy of A.I. going for £9.99 when only last week it was £25. The Deerhunter has also dropped to £10 but the transfer is very poor, as by the way is the cheapish Kagemusha.

If you are permenent resident of USA, then I thought you can get your VAT back by filling in a customs form at the Airport in England.

Thanks guys, appreciate the answers! I think what I'll do is just get any DVDs on my list which I can find fairly cheaply in B&M stores, then order the rest when I get back.
