Strange company. Some people from the UK swear by them. But, the discs ship from Hong Kong and one of their sites list a UK address. It's just weird to me. Also, the disc are priced almost too low to be true. But, they say they are legit and they deliver. I am not convinced quite yet. Their stocks (what they sell) are rather limited too. $0.02

I ordered the disc from CD-Wow two weeks ago, and using my VISA Electron card, no less! My copy shipped a week ago and should arrive very very soon (fingers crossed).

I ordered several discs from CD-Wow while I lived in London. All came within 5 days (excluding pre-orders). I recently moved to NYC and continue to order from them. Most discs come within 4 days now! I ordered the 24 boxset on a Friday and it came the following Tuesday. Pretty sharp service. Nothing but praise for CD-Wow.

You can get 50 p off here: http://www3.cd-wow.com/promotion.php..._1&affid=11127
I ordered my copy of The Killer from them, and it came yesterday. Well packaged in cardboard with some bubblewrap. That was the first order I've made with them, and with that price I don't regret it one second.

Just placed my order w/CD Wow for $14.95 - Couldn't resist any longer. Thanks for all the Feedback!
(Afterthought Edit) So is the Tartan Uncut Hard Boiled the definitive release outside of R1? Or is there another version in the works? I have a sealed copy of the Fox/Lorber Box Set that I want to sell, but I want to make sure the Tartan is a parallel swap...

If you don't have HARD BOILED yet, wait a little while.
Mei Ah is revisiting several of their titles and making anamorphic transfers. Supposedly they have some very big titles geared up. They are very tight lipped about the names of the movies but I would wait to see if they come out with another version at this point. I asked them for a list the movies they would be re-releasing and they basically just said some very popular ones. We'll just have to wait and see.
I have heard bad things about the Tartan DVD but I haven't seen it personally. The current Mei Ah DVD is a flipper. The Criterion and Winstar versions are out of print. Disney missed their street date of 9/03 so hopefully they are rethinking releasing the r cuts with an English dub.

HK video would be cool, but sometimes he can't get the english subs license, eg the killer and fist of legend(great transfer but no subs on the original audio).
And yes, GOD OF GAMBLERS PLEASE, the only release out there is a VCD and another VCD on a DVD CASE.

...it appears that, entirely unsurprisingly, "the upcoming French release from Christoph Gans' HK Video" does not have English subtitles... and why should it, this being a French release for the French-language market (which includes half of Belgium, part of Switzerland and France's overseas territories) ? ... note that there are no German, Italian, or Spanish subtitles either, and nor are there Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Icelandic, Portuguese, Hebrew, Turkish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Rumanian, Bulgarian, or Russian subtitles... ditto for the LEs of The Killer and Fist Of Legend and Storm Riders and Zu - Warriors From The Magic Mountain and Snake In The Eagle's Shadow and...
