The Final Countdown R1 Alternative?

Does anyone know of an alternative to the reported terrible R1 version of The Final Countdown? I've a region-free DVD player.

Region 4 Australia

Not anamorphic and mono sound but still a big improvement.

Have you compared this version to the R2 version available in the UK? The UK version is Widescreen 2.35:1 and is English - Dolby Surround Sound.

There is also the R2 release:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...347034-6992645

It's not a bad deal for only $US15 or so.

The R4 version is 2.35:1; it's just not anamorphically enhanced.

And I just checked my copy and I was wrong; it's stereo, not mono.

I haven't seen the R2 version.

$9.20 shipped worldwide here

I have the R2 (paid $6! ) and it’s watchable, nothing more.
