Because Sony likes to screw its customers - forcing them to buy the SuperBit for DTS. Rip-off Sony. You guys suck.

why are you guys complaining? it's already known, a very deluxe version of the film will be released here in the states. not just a super bit or another bare bones. the one already released would be considered the barebones, and it was done decent, i don't see how people can be so unhappy with it. but a better version will be out.

Nobody's forcing anyone to buy anything. I for one look forward to buying a Superbit of this title.

Ditto. I'll be buying the one with DTS, be it the Superbit/Deluxe or SE.

You're right, I didn't say that Sony is forcing them to buy the SuperBit. I said

forcing them to buy the SuperBit for DTS
If you want DTS, you have to buy the SuperBit - which is just another barebones release. For example, we don't consider Predator with DTS to be anything special - its still barebones with the DTS track.

People are pi$$ed because we're being told that all the extras aren't ready and blah blah....but obviously SOMETHING is if it's coming out in other places around the world. This isn't a Back To The Future situation where we KNOW when it's coming out here. We have no idea. There's been nothing from the studio since the initial release.

Well, if you like that edition, you'll love the Collector Edition that's going to be released in France. It's got 3 discs: The third one contains two 90-minute historical documentaries, 'The true story of the Black Hawk' and 'Ambush in Mogadiscio.'

Drool away.

OMG! A 6-disc French limited edition??!!!! That has to be a typo. Could this be the 3-disc set?

It definitely is a typo. See more accurate info here:

It is a 3-disc set.

I really can't say, but Columbia-Gaumont usually include their extras with removable subtitles.

The only exception could be the two History Channel documentaries, which might or might not be dubbed in French.

The French are getting 1-disc, 2-disc and 3-disc versions? And people complain about multiple versions over here.

I do hope the 3-disc has removable subtitles and non-dubbed History Channel documentaries. I really enjoyed the documentaries included on the Pearl Harbor Vista Series set. It's cool being able to watch the movie and then get some background information on the actual event.

just found this:

http://www.minhembio.com/recension.a...=7391772366955

Even though this comes out sooner than the Japanese DTS edition is there any video advantage to a PAL transfer versus a NTSC transfer?
