Taking plunge
After waffling about for several months, and thanks to Dragonslayer's post, I'm getting a JVC XV-SA600 from the JVB people.
While Malata seems to be the favorite of a lot of folks, somebody made the excellent point that there aren't a bunch of threads focusing on JVC glitches.
Also, and this doesn't apply to most folks, the JVB people are about 45 minutes from where I live. I pick up the machine and I know where they are if I have any questions or issues.
I chose the 600 over the 500 because the JVB guy I talked with tells me that the 600 plays DVD audio while the 500 does not and I understand that for classical and jazz, DVD audio may be a better format in terms of sound reproduction.
Now I just have to figure out which non-region 1/0 dvds to get that'll geek me about this choice.
I'm thinking Drive, Le Samourai, African Queen and . . . ah, this list could start getting really long.
J.
