Region 0 BBC Discs.
Can anyone out there please offer me an explanation as to why two BBC DVD sets (The Blue Planet & Old Grey Whistle Test) which say on the box- region 0,with no mention of PAL,will not play on my Sony player ,here in the USA.
I was under the impression that region 0 discs would play anywhere in the world

Region 0 doesn't mean it can play in any machine.
Region 0 NTSC discs play in any NTSC DVD Player (Players sold in the US/Canadian/Japanese Market).
Region 0 PAL discs play in any PAL DVD Player (Players sold in the European, Australian, New Zealand etc Market).
Although.
If you have an all codes PAL/NTSC DVD Player (hacked APEX, Daewoo, Shinco, Sampo, Afreey, Malata etc) then yes you can play any Region 0 DVD (PAL or NTSC).
