Samurai Trilogy - which version to get ??
I'm looking to pick up this trilogy and was wondering which version to get. There are the criterion versions, and the version by a company from Taiwan called Power Multimedia. The discs from Taiwan are consderably cheaper than the criterion (big surprise).
I'm not a criterion fan-boy or anything, so the name criterion don't mean jack sh*t to me. I also don't really care what extras each disc has, as I rarely check out time on extra features. What I want to know is which discs have the better picture and sound (for a 1950 japanese flick). I don't want to waste my cash on the Criterions if the Power Multimedia ones are comparable.
ANy info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jas

I've only seen the Criterions. Picture/Sound is okay (transfer is good, but from what's obviously an older print of the films...colors are washed out, sound is sometimes warbled, and so forth), and there are no special features to speak of.
