??? Yes, the American XBox is able to play PAL discs that are not region coded. I tried my copy of Medusa's Drive and HKL's Eastern Condors and they both played fine.

Its rumor that u can change the dvd region by getting the DVD kit for he region wanted to be changed to-Japanese kit=region2 and so on.once its plugged in it sets the region on lock-and you should never switch the kits back and forth-or it will have to be sent to microsoft-this is all rumor though
