German e-tailer with fastest shipping?

Any experienced consumers out there willing to pass on some recommendations?

Universe Of Entertainment is a German DVD etailer that ships amazingly fast but is located in Switzerland.

Hendrik 04-11-02 07:30 PM

...umm... well... ahh... it's located in Switzerland because it is a Swiss company...

Well duh, but my point is that they sell German DVDs thus making them a German DVD etailer. ;)

Give me another minute and I can explain to you guys why Play.com is an American DVD etailer because they sell R1 DVDs in addition to R2-UK DVDs. :p

Hendrik 04-11-02 09:15 PM

codefree: ...by your 'logic' then, [UoE] would be an American etailer - since they they sell Region 1 DVDs from the USA, too...

...but I see your point... although you might have phrased your initial post thusly: "[Uoe] is an etailer located in Switzerland that sells German DVDs and ships amazingly fast."

Woo-hoo! Another one converted to my warped sense of reasoning. :)

Yeah you're right. I certainly could have worded it better. :o

Thanks for the tip!

And you kids settle down or there'll be no dessert for anyone!

well I can atest to buying a couple of DVD from amazon.de and that it took longer than I expected.

Also, play.com doesnt look like they ship to the US according to their list of countries they ship to.

ntuc 04-14-02 03:47 AM

amazon.de is very long in their shipping!!

my stuff still not yet arrived after a month long waiting.

worst thing is that their postage is a killer!!!!!

mrowley 04-16-02 05:26 AM

You can say that again about the price of postage!

And an order which shipped on 11 March still hasn't arrived.

Customer service told me to contact them if I haven't received it by 24 April!

How come I can get DVDs from Amazon.co.uk in 5 - 7 days and for half the cost of shipping?

Mark

Interesting...

I started this thread because I, too, waited forever for an order from amazon.de that never arrived. It was mailed out March 1st and today's the day I'm supposed to call to either have it reshipped (*cough*cough*) or have my money refunded.

Perhaps I should start a new thread: "Who else never received their order from amazon.de?"

ntuc 04-16-02 11:02 AM

A guy over at another forum which live in australia got his dvd 54 days later after the date of shippment.

ntuc 04-22-02 05:07 AM

Just got my stuff. Total time taken: 42days.

mrowley 04-22-02 09:03 PM

I'm now at day 41 (to New Zealand)

Fingers crossed!

Mark
