Eating Raoul

This film is one of my guilty pleasures. Best last line in a movie. I also just realized that Raoul, Robert Beltran, is the same Robert Beltran who plays Chakotay in Star Trek Voyage. Now that I know this, I think it's obvious. I always knew he looked familiar but couldn't place it. Anyway....

I*m wondering if anyone out there has the film Eating Raoul? http://us.imdb.com/Title?0083869

According to the IMDB and Amazon its available in the UK and in Germany. The specs on the UK version say its 4:3. I'm not aware of the OAR of this film.

Does anyone have a version of this? Do you know the OAR? What is the DVD AR?

Jim

I liked this film. I haven't seen it in a long time though. I know it was filmed on 35MM film, so the OAR would be closer to 4:3... it was most likely matted for the theatrical release meaning it would've been widescreen. I don't know if the current crop of DVDs of it are widescreen, pan and scan, or full frame. I've only seen it on video and I think it was full frame. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

actually, that does help alot. I think you are right based on the evidence and the budget for the film. I think the release i've seen is 4:3, those sure of the quality though. Problably worth picking up nonetheless.

Thanks

It's out in R2 and R4, full frame. Although R4 is cheaper I have the (identical) R2 version and it's certainly not much of a transfer, but what else would we expect?

It's amazing what you can do with a cheap piece of film if you know how to treat it. But yeah, Im not expecting much of a transfer at all. I found it for £9.99 and elseware for $18.81 AU. I'll probably get it from AU in zone 4. Any other comments on the disc quality just so I know what to expect? Any extras?
