I saw this both on Hong Kong Entertainment Review site and Ain't-It-Cool (I know how iffy that site it, but sinc eboth places reported it, I figure there's some truth here).

- At a recent conference for "In the mood for Love" special version DVD release, Wong Kar-wai confirmed that there will also be DVD re-releases of his earlier films and will be released later next year. "In the Mood for Love" will also score a theatrical re-release in America early next year. Wong will come to US with Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung to promote the film once again.

awesome! does that mean "chungking express" and "fallen angels" will be released on dvd's again? i still havent seen these 2 movies since the hk dvd's are already out of print.

Hmm... I just got Fallen Angels for xmas & was about to order Days of Being Wild TODAY. I wonder if I should wait.

don't wait! Days of Being Wild is one of his finest films.. and i think criterion would release Chungking, Fallen Angels and Happy Together way before DOBW.. although i should warn you that the subitiles/translation are quite poor on the Megastar release. the VCD fares better in that dept.

CRITERION's gonna re-release the following titles in ANAMORPHIC??? (nuts i juss got me copy of CHUNGKING today.... but still...) where can i get the news????

Hold on, there's been no indication that Criterion will be releasing any Wong films other than In the Mood for Love. Grimfarrow merely reported that more titles are coming, he didn't specify which studio(s) might be releasing them.

All this Criterion talk is wishful thinking at this point, though I hope your wishes come true!
