Sorry, I'm new to this whole multi-region thing, but I can't seem to find any e-tailers who carry this.

Great film, but alas, the only version I know of is the R2 Japanese disc that was released about a year ago, but it is only pan-and-scam

Though I thought I remembered a post/rumor of a possible release...Maybe someone else could help out....?

I have the Japanese release and it is actually in Letterbox format, not P&S... however, it is not 16:9.

Hey there chewy!!

I actually bought my copy at the Kawasaki HMV store when I was last in Japan (March/April) visiting the in-laws. However, online it is available at CD Japan for $US30.26 and at Amazon Japan for a similar price - 3800 yen (but with cheaper shipping, I believe). Note that you might need someone to help you set up an Amazon Japan account if you choose to go that way, but it could be worth it.

Hope this helps and hope to see you back in the chat room again some time.

regards, Tim...

Besides not being anamorphic how's the quality otherwise?

It is quite acceptable. The picture is a little grainy, but as I recall the original film is presented in that way. There are no extras to speak of (just chapter stops) and it has DD2.0 audio which is not really a major issue with this film.

Unless it is going to be available in other regions, I would recommend it... even with the rather excessive pricing, I think that this is one film that is definitley worth owning.

regards, Tim...
