hmm... interesting... too bad the commentary is in italian, but oh well. Any cheaper price than that?

Also - can we get a run-down of all the available editions for this film?

Hummm, there's a couple of older European DVD versions:

This is the old 'cut' barebones Italian one:

http://www.lfvw.com/cemetery_man.html

Then this German barebones "Red Edition" (which I believe is also cut):

http://www.horrordvds.com/reviews/a-m/dd/

Then there's 1 (or 2?) laserdiscs versions.

As for the price of the latest Italian edition, Diabolik has it but it's more expensive at $31.99

dvdonline.it (italian etailer) has it for 20.66 euros, roughly 18.55 USD so it looks like it might be cheaper ordering it from Europe. Haven't checked any other European etailers yet.

So where's the US release? Why don't we have a R1 version of this??

And how do you know it has a Making-Of? Are there detailed specs somewhere else?

thanks.

The Italian version isn't even out yet as far as I know. Maybe next week.

The US VHS is 93 Minutes long.

So heck this new DVD is gonna give ya a lot more!

Are we going by the running times on the box or has someone
out there clocked the sucker to see the actual length?

Many studios fudge running times, and count things such as trailers etc.

I had the Japanese laserdisc back in the day and the German DVD now and have never noticed any cuts.

I've been using Luminous for a few years and can say their service is great. In the U.S., the package is sent by priority mail, and normally I'll get the package on Thursday if I order it on Monday morning. Pretty speedy service and great selection.

got mine here and the picture is 10X better than the Spanish version I just sold on Ebay.

Have not watched the whole thing yet though so I don't know what may or may not have been added.

The Transfer on the Medusa is stunning! The making of (18 min) is amazing (shot on location while filming, not a retrospective thing)

i ordered this about 2 weeks ago and still have not gotten it from. first they said it was in stock, will go out the next day, then a week later, no package, then, oh , we were out of that title but it's back now, it will ship this sat, and still no package. it's like my, in the mood for love dvd from amazon fr all over again.

has any one had problems with these people before? this is the first time i've used them and so far not so good. just wondering.

They advertised it even when they had no stock of it. I went straight to the Italian place listed above here. And had it pretty quick.

Never order from Luminous. Lately I've been hearing more and more horror stories about them. Here's mine which I'd posted on another board:

Part 1: I ordered Intruder and The Burning from them and I still hadn't received them weeks later. Fred, the owner I presume, told me after I e-mailed them that they were out of stock and they'd ship the following Tuesday. By the end of that week I still hadn't received the DVDs (I should be a 1 day ship from them) so I e-mailed him again and he denied ever saying that they'd ship on Tuesday. I asked him to cancel the order for me and he confirmed. The following Wednesday, 12/19, they charged my credit card. Now I can't get a response from them and I've received no DVDs. Even with the holiday I should have received them by Monday.

In conclusion, stay away from them. They are dishonest and do not reply. I'll be contacting my credit card company for a chargeback as well as their internet host and local chamber of commerce.

Part 2: I thought it was cleared up but I haven't received anything yet. He replied to me just before New Years saying that he was on vacation and he'd research it on 1/1. He got back to me the evening of 1/1 and said that he had a stack of refunds that he'd forgotten to do before going on vacation. I told him that I'd be willing to accept the DVDs if he had them and could ship them immediately. He said that he had them and they'd ship within a couple of days. As of the beginning of this week, he hadn't shipped the DVDs because he didn't have time to ship all of his orders before doing a show this past weekend.

If I don't have the DVDs by Friday then I'm going to demand a refund otherwise I'm following through with my orginal threats. I'm really getting fed up with this and there are far better companies to order from. Guess I'll just order from Diabolik DVD from now on.

Part 3: Well I finally received my DVDs today. It took almost a month but at least they're here. I'd be more than willing to buy from them at Chiller Theater or Fangoria, where the DVDs are right in front of me, but I doubt I'd order from them online again. Guess I'll have to wait for Diabolik (who I like anyway) to get Ebola Syndrome.

finally got this dvd and it looks/sounds awesome, so glad i got this. i do have a few questions and if others who have this wouldn't mind checking too that'd be great.

first off, the dvd was only 99 min long, not the advertised 108 min, unless something with my malata n996 counter is funky, and i didn't really notice anything that seemed to be that much longer or different from my old vhs tape of the us october films release. is everyone elses 99 min long? yes i got the new italian medusa release. so even though it's not 108 is this uncut? is 108 just some made up number???

also one thing that seemed weird is about 30 minutes into the film where rupert (francesco) is driving next to nagi, after nagi just threw up on the mayors daughter, rupert tries to get nagi in the car and then nagi sort runs and trips and it gets all a motion blur sort of thing just on nagi though not the whole scene, is this on everyone elses?? i don't remember the scene on the vhs looking like that. so just curious.

thanks

I ordered two films from Luminous over a week ago and they have yet to arrive. Has me worried- they definitely took my money, but no product or contact so far.

EDITED TO ADD- Okay, I got one of my movies today. Funny thing is, I got a movie they had listed as "Low Stock", but the film I'm missing they now say is on backorder yet it was listed as being readliy available? Regardless, they still charged me for it, which is pretty shady, since I've had no contact from them about when the movie will be back in stock.

no pants - yes to both of your queries. It appears to be approx 99 mins long and I too get the weird phasing as he falls. I can only assume (hope) it’s intentional and not a flaw.

I don't see any motion blur in the scene in the German Red Edition DVD...

Is the Medusa release good enough to trade in the Red Edition for it?

In a word, yes. I upgraded from the Spanish version to the German Red Edition and then the Red Edition to the Italian version and the quality on the Italian version is significantly better than the other two.
