Battle Royale HK VCD

Anyone out there have this film on VCD ? How's it look/play ?
I see a R3 version, but I would go for the VCD 1st.

Yes, I own "Battle Royale" on the HK VCD, as it's the only option I had. Being the first VCD I had ever seen, I didn't know what to expect. The picture struck me as quite poor quality, though it's the only VCD I've seen, so I can't say if it's average or not. I do think it was poorer than VHS quality.

I see at DDDHouse, there's only a $2USD difference between the VCD and Region 3 DVD. I think I'd definitely opt for the Region 3 DVD if your player is multi-region capable.

I have a copy of the VCD that I'm trying to unload for $7, shipping included. Email me if you're interested. I'm a Gold Trader ([email protected])

Get the DVD, the quality difference between it and the VCD is like night and day.

I just got the DVD today and I'll be watching it soon.

rkndkn - Most VCDs are bad, but occasionally they are decent enough to hang on to. The VCD of Love on a Diet that I got was good enough that I didn't see a reason to upgrade to the DVD (had I liked the film more, maybe - but it was just fine).

Thanks, Trigger! I've recently gotten 2 more VCDs, which I haven't gotten a chance to view yet. One was "Happy End", which is only available as a Region 3 DVD, and the other is "Gen Y Cops", which was a little pricey on DVD (considering Nicholas isn't in the sequel ). Whenever practical, I'd always prefer the DVD, though -- I hate things like not having chapter stops on the VCD!
