What is RCE Encoding?

I did a search for 'RCE Encoding' which came up with zero results.

It is another layer of coding added to Region 1 DVDs to prevent them from being played region-free DVD players. There are work-arounds however.

Who'd have thunk it?

And shutting down Napster put an end to sharing music files.

The big fatcat conglomerates have to realize the people will not accept being turned into cooperative drones without a fight.

Sorry if this question should be in one of the malata forums, but it relates to RCE...

The Malata can defeat RCE, right? Simply by adjusting the region using the remote control sequence to that protected by the RCE?

Thanks
