UK buyers looking for cheapest prices, check out this new store at dvdpricesearch.com
Browsing Home Theater Forum, someone mentions that dvdpricesearch.com has a new site listed with VERY cheap prices called www.northamericandvd.com so I checked and they ARE far cheaper than anyone else I know.
Someone has replied praising their service, here's a link to the post, http://www.hometheaterforum.com/uub/...ML/031166.html

thanks for the post !
but I find ABSOUND is constantly better value for European customers (because of the great Canadian exchange rates).
I know there trouble with hackers caused many customers to leave them but that wasn't their fault and was just a reminder to all to be careful.

Welcome to the forum Watchman and thank you for the comprehensive tip.
This, in fact, serves as a timely reminder for something that comes up from time to time in the various forums namely that, when one is new to the forum, it is often advisable clarifying what (if any) connection you have with an etailer you are recommending even if it is only as a satisfied customer.
andy-j-h, I think the etailer in question is Canadian, despite prices being shown in USD.

Hi guys,
I'm not a customer as yet but have placed my 1st order & will report back when I get my discs.
I too have used AB Sound but have compared everything on my shopping list for the next couple of months and these come out cheaper on all bar one.

Maybe I'm missing something here [got a history of that!] but OK for example....
The DVD- Driven is $14.82 with ABSOUND, $16.50 with northamericandvd and postage for both sites are pretty much the same.
I have no affiliation with SOUND or any other site, I just want the best value.
Is there something I'm forgetting?

Andy,
I think I know what you're missing, AB Sound have 'Specials' where they do a promotional price for a while but when that goes, they're not as competitive.
Here's a small sample from my wants list with the NAD price followed by the BB price(both in US$)
Star Trek TMP 20.49/23.12
Boogie Nights 2 disc 20.99/22.78
Croc Dundee 16.99/19.38
Croc Dundee II 16.99/19.38
Croc Dundee in LA 20.49/23.12
Birds:CE 20.99/22.78
Marnie:CE 20.99/22.78
Still Crazy 19.59/21.08
Raw Deal 16.99/20.06
Chinese Connection 13.99/17.00
Magnolia 20.99/22.78
Bridge on River Kwai 17.47/19.04
that's $226.96 from NAD & 253.30 from AB and there's not much difference in shipping if you ship individually but AB Sound quote the exact price on the box, you get a duty charge if you ship more than 1 at a time.
Shipping 3 at a time with NAD makes the total cost $258.86 as apposed to $300.22 with AB, which is quite a big difference in my eyes.
Obviously AB will be cheaper on some titles & NAD on others but I wouldn't say AB are constantly cheaper (except on their currect specials list).
