Do we need a one-and-only Malata tech thread?
If near identical or complementary questions are asked then I am going to merge the threads come what may....
But what I am thinking of here is whether it would be more useful to have just one mega-thread where all the information is available for anyone willing to read.
And thoughts on whether there should be just one "which code-free player and where should I buy it" thread are also welcome.
This isn't a democracy but feedback is always welcome. Please state any firmly-held pros and cons as well as voting.
No flaming, please!

Well...
I think a one-and-only Malata tech thread would probably be a good idea. It would help consolidate all the info as well as cutting down on the number of new threads.
Also, not that I am trying to take any traffic/discussion away from DVDTalk, but...
FYI: there is a new dedicated Malata forum up over at nerd-out. Look here:

Apologies if this has already been mentioned elsewhere in this forum.

I was torn between one thread and Matt making an FAQ - he should start the thread with his FAQ on top - make it sticky like the HK thread I made.
I just got my own Malata today and I paid for the Region 1 version and I think I got the Region 0 one. Yee Haw.

(Of course, if you ever do want to knock those old posts in to some kind of order just let me know and your post will be given precedence for a while until everyone knows that it is there).
Thanks for the feedback. The general opinion seems pretty clear: if all goes according to plan, later tonight I'll proceed with a little consolidation/renaming and lock this one down.

I'll try and get something together if you like, (the basics) and we can make that thefirst post, so that it is always there and can act as a basic FAQ.
