The Musketeer
There's a thread about this film in the In Theaters forum, but after seeing the trailer I planned to post about it here. It's a new 3 Musketeers film with cheeseball actors in it, but the fight coreography was done by Xin Xin Xiong who you'll remember as Club Foot from OUATIC 3-5 and America - he was also in The Blade and a few other films in which he is absolutely amazing. The fighting looks like it's going to be spectacular (and reminicent of our favorite HK films) despite the actors and stuntmen performing it being non-asian.
Anyway - here's a link to the trailer and you can see for yourself.

Those are mostly asian martial artists under there doing all that stuff I guarantee you.
And it DOES look pretty dang cool.

Is it just me or does anyone else hate it when American Hollywood movies blantantly ripe off HK movies. Wasn't that ladder scene at the end of the trailer already done in OUATIC? WTH? Although it is cool, ...burn hollywood burn!!!!!!

Regardless of how amazing Club Foot may be and his involvement, I can’t recall any time a non HK wannabe action film worked outside of HK. Yuen Kwai worked on Romeo Must Die and Kiss of the Dragon, and they stank. Donnie Yen worked on the last Highlander and Segal film. Stanley Tong made ‘shudder’ Mr Magoo. Kirk Wong made The Big Hit. Anyone else nauseated yet? You can go all the way back to The Seven Brothers Meet Dracula and Hammer horror trying to co-produce with Shaw Bros. or even the Italians with The Stranger and the Gunfighter. It just hasn’t worked. Doesn’t mean it cant, but its more likely to be like the rest- a dud.
Anyway, I saw the trailer and even saw Tim Roth interviewed about it, talking about being rigged up in a uncomfortable harness, how strange it was being in a European locale with a Euro cast, in a US funded movie, with a Chinese stunt team. The director Peter Hyams has an impressive list of mediocre/bad films, everything from Outland, to 2010, Timecop, Sudden Death, and The Relic.
