I asked this to the forum of the asiandvdguide, but now that's back up, so you can check there for reviews, Muldoon does a great job keeping up with all the versions of everything.
As for my experience, for Enter the Dragon, the US version is the way to go (25 anniversery Warner Bros. one.) As for his films from China, I guess you should get all but Enter the Dragon and Game of Death from DDDhouse.com. Enter the Dragon and Game of Death are American movies, so English is the original language. No one has told me what version of Game of Death to get though...
Also, this is all if you can't play Hong Kong Legends discs. If you can play those (the are Region 2 PAL) then I hear those are your best bet.

I should buy a HKL disc to see if I can play it. I have an old region free player, but I don't know how it stands up to PAL. I just got a fixed "In the Mood for Love" DVD, if I like it, I'll get the French disc, and if I can play that, I can play any PAL.

Fixed as in replacement. The first time I received it from dddhouse, the disc has like a black rash on the bottom and got all blocky about 30 seconds into the film and crashed and wouldn't play past there. I sent it back and just got my replacement copy yesterday. If I really like it, I'll get the French version.
