Jet Li's RED DRAGON - when?

The trailer for it on Columbia's MELTDOWN DVD tags this one as "COMING SOON," but damned if I don't want to see it NOW. Anyone have the scoop on a release date? I haven't seen it pop up for pre-order yet.

i bet this is another rerelease, just like meltdown was a rerelease for high risk (i'm pretty sure thats what it was called). so i bet you can find the original verision before the hacked & dubbed version comes out.

describe the scenes it showed in the preview and maybe i can figure out what it is...

Someone had already mentioned the original title to me. I think it had "Shaolin" in it. Anyway, the preview makes it look like a mix between the ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA series and CROUCHING TIGER.

Columbia treated the release of ONCE UPON... properly (at least in my view), with two cuts, so maybe they'll do the same for RED DRAGON.

It is

New Legend of Shaolin. Best seen for Tze Mui's performance.

I mentioned this in an unrelated thread; but the studio recalled all studio prints of New Legend of Shaolin and ordered them destroyed. The theater over here had one for the longest time and showed it frequently on the big screen...

The pain...

Because they (Columbia I think, I mentioned Miramax before but was wrong. I can ask the guys at the movie theater) are stupid and want full control of the movie.
