New Mr. Bean Box Set releasing Sept 20 at Amazon.de...Any Info???

It has come to my attention that Amazon.de is release a new R2 Mr. Bean Box Set on September 20th. Does anyone have any more info on exactly how many discs/epsisodes will be included in the set.

There are not many details on the Amazon.de website...

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASI...360001-4914109

Here are the details that are mentioned:

• Regionalcode 2, PAL
• ASIN: B00005N96V
• Laufzeit: 491 Minuten
• DVD Erscheinungstermin: 20. September 2001

If it is 491 minutes that means that it should be a little over 8 hours...so is this the whole series? Will it have english audio tracks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

They also list it as a "10th Anniversary Box Set". Hopefully Amazon UK will have some info up soon about it. I can't imagine that it won't be released in the UK. I know I'll be getting one.

I'd like to know about this release as well. I've already got volumes 1-4 of Bean though so I hope any additional discs will be available separately as well.

And yes, minuten is German for minutes.

I wrote Amazon.de to get more info and here is their response...unfortunately no info as to whether or not there will be an English Audio track...

Dear Brett!

Thank you for writing to Amazon.de.

The box set contains, as far as I was able to find out, the 3 DVD editions
which are also available singularly.

The box set contains defintely more material than the previous 8 DVD
editions. If you add up the minutes of the 8, you will get a sum of 390
minutes of Mr. Bean episodes, the box set has 490 minutes.

Unfortuantely I was not able to find out whether ALL episodes are included.

I hope I was able to help you. Please feel free to contact us again, if you
have further questions.

Have a pleasant week!

Has anyone received this yet? Or have you even received a shipping confirmation?

I have not received ANYTHING and checking the website doesn't seem to be much help (www.amazon.de).

I was just checking amazon.de and it looks like they pushed the release date back to October 4 (yesterday). I don't know if it really came out but I am starting to get impatient... I sold my best bits of Mr. Bean dvd a while ago and my six year old is very mad!

but I guess I should also add (courtesy of everyone's favorite babelfish):

Availability when ordering: Yet with the publishing house availability did not appear momentary: Yet did not appear

Article yet does not dispatch

But if I look up the title, it says:

Ready for dispatch in 2 to 3 working-days.

So is it out yet? I doubt it.

I contacted Amazon.de after I didn't see it ship on Sept. 20, and they said they contacted the distributor and that it wasn't supposed to come out until October 4th.

Now I see they've updated the website to reflect that information, but I also have not still received any shipping notice yet.

It may be time to send another email to customer service.
I'll post any info that I find out...

I was searching on net about this box and some site mentioned it's "BEST OF BEAN". I not sure, because I can't read German.

Just a note. Even if there's no english audio track in Mr. Bean, there's virtually no places that you'd actually notice it. ;p

I mean, it's not as though we're talking about Blackadder here, Bean is all visual.

Although there are a few places that I can think of in which much of the humor could be lost (Mr. Bean takes a test).

AdamGott the "test" episode was the first I ever saw. I had it in mind that there was no (or minimal) dialogue and that 99.99% of the laughs came from body language. But I may be wrong!!

Cool Beans :)

I did some searching and I found info about the discs on this site:

I'm not sure how accurate it is, I have never shopped there, but if this info is correct then it looks like the sound is in english!
Looks like a complete set of the episodes...and then some.
Now I just hope that Amazon.de ships mine soon

I emailed Amazon.de again and they were really quick to respond:

Dear Brett,

Hello from Amazon.de and thank you for your writing.

According to my information it seems that the publisher provided a new
release date, which is October 15th. I am very sorry about this new delay.
Unfortunately we have no influence on this.

Please contact us if you have any questions. We are glad to hear from you.

Have a nice week!

Checked the Amazon.de website and it still says "4. Oktober 2001"

Oh well, maybe next week then

Except for the movie of Mr.Bean, which was dubbed in German, the tv-series was not dubbed on German tv.
Therfore I'd expect the dvd-boxset to be in english as well with subtitles (where applicable- roughly 5 words in a single episode.. )

This collection is also going to be available in Spain with English audio and subtitles in Spanish, English, French, Portugese, and Italian.

DVDGO lists a Sept. 26 release date, but all three titles are on backorder, suggesting that they aren't out yet there either.

Unlike the German set, the Spanish DVDs are being sold separately and are more expensive.

DVDGO also has cover scans and the contents match the information in Brett's post.

Damfino,

If you look on the Amazon.de site you can also purchase each of the German discs individually as well, it is just more expensive to get them individually than as a box set.

Thanks for the info...
Hopefully we'll all get our shipping notices soon

-Brett

New Release Date...New Lower Price

Well, the release date has changed again!!!!

Just went to Amazon.de to see if my order had shipped, and I saw that now it says that the Box Set will be released on October 31.

But the good news is that the price has also been reduced!
So I cancelled my old order and re-placed it at the new lower price. Probably could have contacted Amazon and had them price match the new price, but just thought this would be easier.

Wow excellent, quite reasonable in the first place especially compared to the old 8 dvd set that was out. I think those were around 20 bucks US per disc. So I'm definitely jumping on this one.....well if it actually ever comes out.

My guess is that Mr. Bean has more International appeal because he's more visual than verbal.

Hmm, amazon.uk must be doing the pricing game that amazon.com was doing a while back. I checked the price and it was 16 cents more than what I preordered for.
