It appears as though you are correct garmonbozia, but when I first purchased my "Happy Together" the only version available was the Ah Mei HK one... I was unaware that Image was preparing a release.

As far as my In the Mood For Love DVD... I am quite happy with it. The subtitles are clear and accurate ( my wife is Cantonese ) and the colors are vibrant... I am sure the region 2 coming out will be improved... at least it is available for region1 fans NOW... not unlike the terrible Fox Lorber transfers of Eric Rohmers films... it is a shame that the quality is so poor, but at least they are putting them out. I am more interested in seeing the films than in having pristine transfers etc.

The Days of Being Wild, and As Tears Go By anamorphic 5.1 sound DVDs are a good sign for the future. I think the region 0 HK offerings are improving... yes, a good sign.

Cheers,
Gary

Yes, this 'discussion' is becoming quite tiresome, as are all the invectives (look it up in the dictionary). If you could come up with something original, that would be different, but it's just the same old 'flames'. Yes, my pseudonym at the DVDCP is erikld. Had you asked me, I would have told you. I don't hide anything. And, yes, the reason I joined your site was to see how easily goaded you were. Well, very easily, obviously. But then, apparently some of the more intelligent members of the DVDCP were ejected from this site, so I just wanted to see if you were as shallow and empty-headed as I suspected. And you proved that point too. So, I'll end this.

Oh, by the way, the reason I don't own more HK dvd's than I do was because of the poor quality issues of 'Happy Together' and 'High and Low' I made the mistake of buying. But I do like Jackie Chan and Jet Li, they're so HOT, so if I can only get them from HK, I will.

I think apart from the name calling it's been pretty well stated why this forum is (at least currently) dominated by HK posts. You can go on your merry way now, secure in the knowledge of what cretins we DVDTalk members are. Good day.

You have to be joking about Jackie Chan being hot. That guy's nose is like a water balloon. Oh well different strokes for different folks I guess.

I just read his thread out of morbid curiosity. "Morbid" being the key word. I enjoyed your response over there, Trigger.
It looks like they took it off - I'm probably banned {gasp}

edit: not banned - but a moderator told them what was up, so hopefully it's all over.

Happy Together is technically released by Kino, and distributed by Image, but it looks like Amazon just put down Image for the studio. Kino has also released Fallen Angels if you're interested.

I just recently got the HK Mega Star releases of Days of Being Wild and As Tears Go By....I hope to see them sometime next week.

Hi garmonbozia,

I also have the HK Fallen Angels... I watched both my Days of Being Wild and As Tears Go By HK DVDs this weekend. Although the picture and sound are pretty good, the literal translated subtitles are very funny in some cases. Also poor spelling.

Cheers,
Gary
