There are NO hacks to ANY sony DVD players.

That's not true, my Sony 7700 is modded. What I think you meant to say is that there are no region-settable hacks for Sony machines. As such, the hacks from the past will not work with RCE-encoded DVDs.

Chipreplaced (modded) Sony plays RCE since manual region selection is enebaled. No way though to "remote" hack any Sony to play multiregion. Only chipreplacement (or re-programming) works.

Actually, the old Sony 725's can be "remote" hacked by accessing the service menu.

I was just accessing the service menu yesterday on a DVP330...unfortunately, it was at someone else's house, and I can't remember the buttons to do it! I'll list what little I can remember. Maybe playing around with the remote will get you in there.

It's something like this. With the player OFF, hit:

Clear (Middle left of remote)
Then a button 1 or 2 rows above that, also on the left. (I have no idea if the remotes are the same).
Then Power

You're then in the service menu. From there, I found the region setting, but on the 330 I couldn't change it.

Sorry I can't remember more.

For the Sony 725, I think the key sequence was 'title', 'enter', 'power' (with the player in standby), but it might have been 'title', 'clear', 'power'. One of those should get you into the service menu.

I don't think you can do anything with the 330. The region lock is in the hardware and the player would need to be chipped to circumvent it.
