Wheels on Meals

The perennial favourite, as originally designated by INSIDE KUNG FU magazine, is the finale between Jackie Chan and Benny "The Jet" Urquidez in WHEELS ON MEALS. I tend to agree, although the Yuen Wo Ping-choreographed scenes in FIST OF LEGEND are also very nice.

it woudl eb hard to narrow it down to just one fight scene. Some of my favorites include:

- final fight in Prodigal Son with Yuen Biao
- final fight in dreadnaught with Yuen Biao taking on the crazed opera singer
- final fight between Jackie and Ken Lo in Drunken Master 2
- any of the fights in Fist of Legend
- Jet Li vs. Donnie Yen in OUATIC II
- Final ladder fight in OUATIC
- donnie yen vs. corrupt shaolin monks in Iron Monkey
- pretty much any of the top tier Shaw Brothers flicks (venoms, master killer, etc.)

this list could go on for days....there are just too many great and varied fight scenes too chose just one.

and more recently the fight between Michelle Yeoh and zhang ziyi in CTHD was great

alot of people have said the final fight between Benny and Jackie in Wheels on Meals was the best ever. While it was good I wouldn't classify it as the best. I mean the candle flame thang was cool and all, but I thought the Jackie Benny fight in Dragons forever was better.....although I am probably in the minoirty

fights

too much variety out there to pick just one. When you factor in weapons, empty-hand, multiple-attackers, improvised-weaponry, complexity of choreagraphy, speed of execution, wires/no-wires, etc..the list just gets too big wayyy to quick.

Favorites (in no particular order)
Final fight in Drunken Master 2 between JC and Ken Lo
JC v. the Axe Gang in DM2
Spear work by Lau Kar Leung under the train/between building supports in DM2

JC fighting with a ladder in First Strike

JC fighting in the gang's hideout in Rumble in the Bronx

the final fight in Legendary Weapons of China(Legendary Weapons of Kung Fu)
(they cycled through a bunch of classical weapons in about 10 minutes, the complexity and speed of execution was insane too! WOW!)

The use of Butterfly Swords in Shaolin Master Killer

Three-sectional staff v. Butterfly Swords in Shaolin Master Killer

Iron Hoop training and fight routines in Return of the Five Deadly Venoms

The final 3-on-2 fight scene in Dirty Ho (geez!!!)

I could continue practically forever, mentioning fights from Fist Of Legend, OUATIC, Prodigal Son, Warriors Two, Magnificent Butcher, a bunch of JC films, etc..

Every good fight has its own unique "flavor", so it gets virtually impossible (for me at least) to be able to judge all fights using a set of standard criteria in order to come up with a "best" fight.

The Blade had some of the best fighting in it

Drive had some outstanding fighting in it. Marc Dacascos is so underrated it's sickening.

The fight between Club Foot and Wong Fei Hung on Once Upon a Time in China and America as well as the bar fight with Club Foot in the same film (forget his name Xin Xin or something)

Tai Chi 2 had some great stuff in it.

Jackie Chan obviously has done some incredible fight scenes...

Fist of Legend of course comes to mind as well.

I swear this was in another forum, but the fight seen in "Who Am I?" with Jackie Chan on the roof with the two bad guys lasts like 7 minutes and is pretty sweet in choreography.

I think the best fight is between Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris in "Return of the Dragon".

JC

The final 2-on-1 fight in Who Am I? is awesome.

The final fight JC has with Brad Allen in Gorgeous is pretty nice too. Real speedy, good rhythm, plays-up the unique talents of both people, etc.

Does a COMPILATION of fight scenes exist? If not i think it would be awesome if someone with the skills to do so would slap em on a VCD and sold em or posted them on some ftp or something =)

Seriously, do any third-party groups like dvd-mags or dvd studios offer samplers that contan fight scenes from diff movies?

I can just see it now, back to back chapters of just awesome fight scenes.

There's a dvd called "The Deadliest Art" that has fight scenes from Jackie, Sammo, Bruce, etc. This film was made in the mid-nineties, so it doesn't contain any recent fight scenes.

There's another fight scene compilation DVD called "Best Of The Martial Arts Films". It's available at the following shops.

AsianDiscs.com $11.99
PokerIndustries $12.99
HKFlix $13.95

Has anyone seen this DVD? I haven't.
