AsianDVDGuide back... HKMDB (Hong Kong Movie Database) Gone???

It's been down for me for the past few days... what's up? Just me?

www.hkmdb.com

It would be a terrible shame if this one was gone. I just couldn't take it.

Whither HKMDB?

HKMDB does seem to be MIA. Like you I think it would be a terrible loss if it went down. I'm holding my breath because on the main page there has been a notice about redesign. I'm hoping HKMDB is just closed for refurbishing.
With fingers crossed.

The note that Ryan put on the screen of hkmdb.com mentioned something about going in a "new direction" after three years. Operating a website on limited resources does not seem to be the easiest thing to do. Ryan has done a great job presenting current information on HK movies. Before the shutdown, some of the information at hkmdb.com on VCD releases seems to have not been updated for several weeks.
It may be a server problem or just that Ryan went on vacation.
After the bad storm that hit Hong Kong last Friday, HK was not that nice a place to be.

Still "Missing In Action" - I hope it's just maintanence or something. I'm worried.

I wouldn't be too worried this time, HKMDB has been down for relative short periods many times in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if a new and improved HKMDB comes up in the coming weeks.

Weird.

First it's up then down
then it's up again and re-coded
then it's down
then it's up again with UPDATES
now it's down again....

who's the puppet master of this scene?
