Maybe some of you already know I am German and I do live in Germany, but I am curious. What are you thinking about German DVDs, especially American Pie, Sleepy Hollow and Scream 3 with DTS track?
Do any one of you have DVDs from Germany?
I know "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Basic Instinct" is cut in USA, but in Germany they are uncut. Do onyone of you have them?
Well, in fall we get a new re-realeses uncut DVD "Basic Instinct" with many extras and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks and anamorphic tranfer. *sigh* I can't wait on this great DVD!

Is there a good German etailer that has a website in English that you could recommend? I'm very interested in finding out what movie titles have better releases in other regions.
Thanks!
Thanks!

@Maryang: Sorry, never heard before!
@Randy: Did you like the movie "Run Lola Run"?
@GotDVD: Yep, there are some really good German movies, very funny:
Erkan and Stefan: I have laughed alot and the movie is as good as Dumb and Dumber! It's already available on DVD in Germany with DTS Track
Look here:
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0216741
Harte Jungs is very funny too and the DVD will be released next week:
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0239450
Also funny, but with many sadness because of cripple boy! The movie is called "CRAZY"!
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0215681
Already Available on DVD with DTS track too.
But these DVDs have neither english subtitle nor english track!
Sorry, I don't know any german sites in english: Try here:

I looked at the link for Erkan And Stefan and the first review listed says it's the worst movie ever! Harte Jungs is listed as a pan & scan DVD. No way in hell I'm buying that either.
I do appreciate your reply though and will be checking out the sites you linked in a moment. By the way, I loved Anatomie and Lola Rennt.

Hey Wuffi - I got Anatomy last week - I understand that was a blockbuster in Germany, right? What was your opinion? I thought it was a hoot - some over here in the US are taking it a little too seriously I think.

Uhm...yes it was. It was a blockbuster in Germany and Columbia's 1st movie made in Germany! Well, I liked Anatomy. Really thrill. But I like Erkan and Stefan better :-)! I can't stop laughing yet :-))) ! You have to see that.

I thought the first 10-15 minutes of "Anatomy" were great but then it got boring and predictable soon after. And then it got really lame about 2/3rds of the way through.
I thought "Run, Lola, Run" was superb and I can't wait for "Cemetery Man" on DVD.

Well, "Der Krieger und die Kaiserin" is suppossed to be a very good movie but I haven`t seen it yet. It`s from Tom Tykwer the same director as run lola run and also stars Franka Potente. It is not out on DVD so far.
Another good german movie I can recommend is "Knockin on heaven`s door" starring Til Schweiger, one of the assasins in Replacement Killers. The DVD is quite cheap but beware there are two versions and one is only full screen ! I can`t give any comments about the quality of the dvd because I do not own it. It is available at amazon.de for 34.99 DM. That is about $16. If you need a referral write me a mail that takes of another 10 DM.

Hey, Wuffi...I know that this s way out of what you are asking but could you give me a hand here since you're German.
I am looking for a place that sells either Tornado or Family Blue movies on DVD. I have been asking people over the A-DVD Talk but no luck at all.
Do you know of any etailer from Germany that I could get in contact with?
You could email me also if you think that we might get the rap from the forum members...but I have tried the A-FORUM so if you know please let me know.
