re: Amazon Prime Day deals

I put in a invite request for the $99 43 inch 4K TV

Amazon Amazon

It's 75% off. I'm not counting on getting one. My 4K TV is 40 inch and about 7 years old now. Plus it has a burn mark on the screen. Still works, but I wouldn't mind this TV as a possible replacement.

re: Amazon Prime Day deals

Walmart, Target, and Best Buy will be running their own, competing sale offers this week, against Prime Day.

Walmart+ Week is running from July 10-13. Members of Walmart+ will be granted early access to the deals, starting on Monday, July 10 at 12 p.m. ET. The sale will open up to all shoppers on Tuesday, July 11 at 12 p.m. ET and will run through July 13 at 7 p.m. ET.

Walmart+ membership is on-sale for 50% off at $49/year (normally $98). Walmart+ includes Paramount+ Essential service ($60/year value) for free.

Target has Circle Week running from July 9-15. Target Circle membership is free.

Best Buy's Black Friday in July event will run from July 10-12. My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members also get access to exclusive deals and deeper discounts.

This year is way junker than last's. I remember getting 25% off from Warehouse deals last year which seemed absent today.

Bought my 1st Prime Day item. A Leg Elevation pillow for $33+ tax!! Need it for some leg circulation issues that I've been suffering for years. Keeps the swelling down.

Amazon Amazon

I have an old one that pretty beat up and dirty, so I definitely needed this one. You can't go super cheap on these.

It's been a while since they did 25% off all Warehouse Deals items. The last few Prime Day sales, it's been 20% off select Warehouse items. You have to go to the Warehouse main page, then click on the 20% banner, and then you'll presented with the list of qualifying items, which can be filtered by category. Today, I picked up a $1400 list price 38" ultrawide monitor for under $600.

Searching for items is a pain in the ass. I guess it is amazon's way of telling me I don't need to buy anything.

I got another 4k Max Fire Stick... for reasons.

I don't think it was part of Prime Day but I've wanted a new Fitbit and they had a deal on the one I've eyeing. I ordered them yesterday morning and they were delivered yesterday around 5pm.

No... I purchased more board games than movies this year... and it wasn't many (2-3 for me and another 2-3 for gifts). I purchased *one* movie. Gruv PM'd the *one* season of Doctor Who I wanted and the last couple of stand alone Who releases with Jodi Whittaker. I did the 20% off thing with a "new" email and got a better deal on those than from Amazon.

But it was the items I was interested in buying and bought...which is all that mattered.

Only thing I’ve gotten so far was.a “movie”. Am moving soon so not trying to spend money on stuff that won’t be used until i move it anyways but had to pick up Better Call Saul season 6 to complete my breaking bad universe collection. Decent price and I’ve seen a few final seasons skyrocket in price due to availability and don’t want any chance of that happening to this one before i get it.

I'm guessing Amazon sold out of their allotment of $99 4K TVs. No email yet. My Invite requested is still listed, but nothing so far.

Maybe you are lucky. I have a $199 Best Buy black friday 55" TCL set, and it's not that good. It takes 30 seconds to turn on (load the Google interface), and the apps that are on the TV are unusable, they take a couple minutes to boot up and very slow to navigate. Any updates to an app take several minutes to load and install. On my LG OLED set from 2016, the apps are loaded and installed almost instantaneously. I use a separate streaming box, and once I am able to switch to the input, it's serviceable although I had to recently re-seat the HDMI since the colors were wonky.

Regarding my big Prime Deal purchase, I got a Bissell Little Green upholstery vacuum, regularly $123 for $86. I had my eye on it for a while, and thought to check to see if there was a deal. Looking at energy drinks next.

I brought the same TCL 55S546 for $199 from BB for my brother and his wife. They have no problems with the Google interface. But I have the TCL 65S546 and yes the Google interface sucks. Not sure why the Google interface on their 55" is so much better than my 65". I'm sure I have the latest firmware update.

I bought a Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Blu-ray set and a Samsung USB drive. I almost bought a SSD expansion for my PS5, but I'll probably wait until Black Friday to buy it.

I bought a flight sim yoke + throttle. Was hoping for a good deal on rudder pedals, but no such luck.

I also picked up another Fire Stick 4K (Max).

Having said that, these sales are nothing like they used to be. Pretty big letdown, really.
