Re: Restaurants.com 80% off code

so how does this work? do they send you the certificates or do you just print them off? how do you know the terms of the certificate before you buy it?

You print them off. We've used two certificates this week that I bought for a buck each. Nothing like saving 50 dollars for the price of two.

You print them off. The terms are shown before you click to buy the coupon. Most (all?) require a minimum purchase. Some add an automatic gratuity. You just need to pay attention before you go hog wild and buy hundreds of dollars in certificates. Normally, the certs aren’t worth it IMO. With the huge % off, they are defiantly worth it.

I bought a bunch for about $2 each and I still don't think they are worth it. With a $35 minimum purchase you may be ordering food you don't want/need to get there and if you tip accordingly(or if it's tacked on for you) you are still looking at a $17+ bill. So to me it's more like I'm saving $10 not $25. Then you factor in the $2 spent on the certificate and I'm saving a whopping $8.

$8 is definitely a savings, but not $25 in savings.

I have 2 kids and a wife, so it is easier to get to $35 for me. Otherwise, I would take home lunch for tomorrow. With an 18% gratuity (the most common % on my restaurants), you are at $41.30 + $2 - $25 = $18.30. Pretty good IMO. It doesn't work out so well if you have a forced gratuity at a restaurant where you normally wouldn’t tip.

yeah, solo, these aren't worth much. but when you go with 2+, they are totally worth it. hell, in vegas we buy the $50 ones at nicer places, because you already know you are going to hit the $100 easily.

Glad I read that before purchasing a certificate to a local restaurant my girlfriend and I love.

The place I wanted a certificate from has a minimum of a $40 order and is not valid either Friday or Saturday

You can't use 2 coupons on the same order. On the alcohol it's YMMV. I don't usually order alcohol but the one time I did they counted it toward the $35 requirement

Re: Restaurants.com 80% off code

And you can't ever pay nothing. There's always a minimum purchase amount. Read the fine print for the coupons you're interested in. It's really only worth it if you were going to spend the "minimum amount" anyways, if you're ordering extra stuff to satisfy the requirements of the coupon, it's probably not worth it.

Does that apply to all the restaurants on the site? I notice some have the 1 Coupon Limit in the fine print and some don't.
