My Walmart had these for 10.00, the price on the box was 29.97. I had no use for using them on an umbrella light, like the box showed but I bought one just to see how it was and where I might use one and found many uses. snow shovel, walking stick, emergency stair rail lights, hand held light, table light, etc. I went back and bought two more. They do use 3AAA batteries and do not at this time know how long the batteries might last with 18 LEDS.

You attach these to an umbrella handle? Why would you do that--so you don't walk in the dark at night when it's raining?

Mine is attached to a patio table umbrella.

I can't see using one on a snow shovel or a walking stick, unless you want to look odd.
