Wal Mart PS3 100$ gift card dibacle

Has anyone confirmed that Wal Mart will give the $100 gift card with the purchase of the PS3 Metal Gear Solid 80GB bundle due out June 12?

My store said no, is'nt this false advertising?

I just called a store 1 hour from me and they said it was included. I am going to have to call coorporate to get a solid answer.

it comes out at midnight tonight but my local store has 2 on the shelf.

Just called the main office in Arkansas. Talked to the Ohio regional manager who then took my name and number and said they would forward it to the Ohio Electronics Marketing man.

Just got off the phone with him and he called my local Wal-mart and told them that this offer DOES, I repeat, DOES include the PS3 80GB Metal Gear Solid bundle for 499.97.

If anyone is heading out to get one I suggest you call ahead of time and make sure they know the deal. If they do not. Call the following number and tell them the situation, they will take care of it.

479-273-4838 and ask for John Fleming.

Good luck all.

The register prompts for the gift card so even if the associate wasn't aware that the 80 gig is included in the deal the register would allow for it anyway.

It's a great deal, though I'm not wild about the color....as the black looks much nicer with my other components.

Just in case anyone hadn't tried yet, the $100 gift card is available on the MGS bundle.

Is there any hope they will do this deal again in the future?

I ordered the 40gb PS3 from the website, and they emailed me the gift card code. It has been 2 weeks and now I get an email that the shipping has been delayed and I "might" have it by July 10th. I used Ship-to-Store.

The problem I have is that another item I ordered at the same time (a desk) was shipped on the 12th from New York (heading to Delaware) but never arrived. They emailed me today to tell me it was lost, and that they were issuing a refund to my card. What happens is they do the same with the PS3? If I use the $100 that they emailed to me and then they turn around and say the PS3 is lost, can they try to make me pay the $100?

^ I doubt they would do that. It wouldn't be your fault if it was lost.

It is still unsettling that, after 7 days in transit from NY, my PS3 has had no update other than "delayed in transit." For my missing desk, they offered free shipping - though it doesn't help, as delivery was only for the truck to arrive in front of my house - I would have to unload the 120 lb box. No thanks, this was why I chose ship-to-store. It also doesn't help that I don't work close enough to home to be there when they arrive.

At this point I strongly advise anyone considering using ship-to-store to only use that service if you need your item whenever they get around to getting it there.

I have a sinking feeling that my PS3, like my desk, will be "lost" - though the website shows my desk as "returned." Um, sure it was.
