Battery for Digital Camera

I just got an Olympus 790SW from a friend, but it doesn't have the battery. So, I'm trying to find a reliable and safe knock-off that doesn't carry the OEM price tag. Can anyone vouch for an online retailer that sells good replacement batteries? Thanks!

Looks like you can get themon Ebay for about $11-12 total for 2 batteries. I;m sure you can find more. Just do a search with you camera and model and it will show you who has them available. Just order from a legit retailer with HIGH feedback. Just a thought as I do not know anyone else B&M that would have it.

A lot of these 3rd party batteries are pure junk. They are likely to be counterfeit "name" brands. I bought a Maxell (supposed to be Li-Ion) for my Canon Powershot for only $10 shipped online from a merchant that isn't retaining a full charge after only a couple uses. No big loss but it doesn't instill any confidence in off-brands.

He has a good point. You usually can sniff these guys out with their feedback. If I see ANY negative's or neutrals in reference to quality issues of the items the seller sells I dont use them.

After the warnings about eBay, I decided to try a site called bestbatt.com. I'll post a follow-up when I get the battery and test it out. Thanks for the input.

I've had no problem buying camcorder batteries from ebatts.com.
