Xbox 360 Premium at Amazon.com for $329.99

for an additional $20 off the recently reduced cost of the 360. They might even come with an HDMI port.

I'd be willing to bet they won't be the HDMI ones. Old inventory. Still a good deal, though.

Deftones is right, the Elite is the one with an HDMI port. Don't want people to be misled.

I heard on the news that Microsoft will be dropping the price of X-Box 360 soon to compete with the PS2 price drop.

Looks like Amazon is sold out of their stock at $329.99. Their site has it available only from other sellers at $349.99.

Not true. Newly manufactured ones do. I was pointing out that they'd probably be getting rid of existing inventory first, so it wasn't likely you'd get one with an HDMI port.

Well, mine just shipped out, so we'll know in the near future. What're the chances that I'll be able to do an exchange (at the same price) if the one I get doesn't have HDMI?

I hope so, but from that article it seemed as though they were saying you'd get a better deal if you wait because the 360 may include the 65nm chip, quieter DVD drive; better CPU, basically.

I've been hearing this since the spring.

Yeah, rumors of that happening have been around since before Christmas 2006, which is why I waited, and am still waiting...c'mon Microsoft! I'd like to buy a 360 that won't overheat on me before the Xbox 720 comes out

No, it actually had a June 06 manufacture date, so I sent it back and got an elite.

Those interested in using HDMI for video only, be advised that in order to get a separate audio signal from the 360, you'll require a dongle that plugs into the normal AV port and has L/R RCA as well as optical audio. The Elite comes with it and an HDMI cable, whereas the Premium w/HDMI port does not. Only way you can get the dongle at retail is by buying a $49.99 package with a Microsoft HDMI cable and the dongle. That's one of the reasons I went with the Elite.
