this sounds familiar. wasn't there a similar deal with the 8 free as well? except it was battery.com's own brand and not energizer. I heard on some news program that many generic battery companies actually have the major brands manufacture their store brand batteries. only difference is that one has the major brand stamp and the other doesn't.

Doesn't seem to work for me. It ignores code 8AA. Is this dead?
I tried another code (CJ181) for 15% off (no bonus batteries) and that works, but obviously, not as good a deal.

Heh, 8AA expired last week.
Interesting observation. Shipping on two 24-packs ($5.50) is more than TRIPLE the shipping on one ($1.49) $6.99 is a good price anyway, better after the 15% CJ181 discount which just about covers the shipping, but if you want to get more than one 24-pack, you're much better off trying multiple orders.
