Hotter then the flames in HELL! 50% off AV cables!

This company just opened and they sent an email to several people I know from www.hometheaterspot.com and provided a coupon code to receive 50% off till April 15.
http://www.bestdealcables.com./
Coupon code "spotcable"

Here is the link from my email:

Thanks for the heads-up. I could use a DVI-HDMI cable.

Even with the coupon the one cable I looked at costs almost 3 times as much as at Monoprice for the same gauge wire .

http://www.bestdealcables.com/Detail.aspx?ItemID=148

http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...ormat=2&style=

For whatever it's worth, Monoprice specs a higher bandwidth/resolution. Is there a discernable quality difference?

Clearly, "Best Deal" cables are not the best deal. It's about impossible to beat monoprice's prices, especially considering monoprice sells high quality cables.

Don't be fooled by the high prices, it only means higher margains for the boutique cable shops. Monoprice is the way to go.

My concern with monoprice is 1080p playback. If I am going to run an HDMI cable through my wall and attic, I don't want to have sparkles at 1080p when that time comes.

Is there real reason/evidence to be concerned? Or just because the price is lower, it seems of questionable quality?

Although I don't have any "high end" cables (and don't have 1080p), I cannot tell any difference at all between Monoprice and monster cables on my setup. It seems a lot of people put down monoprice because they assume the quality must be in line with the prices. But I've not seen any actual evidence that monoprice are inferior to the higher prices cable boutiques.

Over at AVS there have been a some members that have reported sparkles showing up using some lowe price cables like Pacific cables that were 20 ft or longer. I can't comment on Monoprice either way. But, when the other company states proper playback at 1080p with their cables I have a higher comfort level....with the coupon it would be about $20 more for a 50 ft HDMI cable....that's not much of a price difference. My concern is monoprice may or may not perform at the same level on long runs producing an 1080p imagine. They don't make any claim to or not to...so hence my concern and question.

Monoprice specified this on the DVI-HDMI cables I compared:
These precision-engineered cables are fully compliant with the DVI standard defined by DDWG (Digital Display Working Group). The DVD-D dual link configuration provides enough bandwidth for resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 and allows high speed digital transmission up to 9.9 Gbps.
Would that make you feel more confident?

Where did you get the 50' HDMI cable price at BestDeal? The longest I could find was only 10 meters.

I did see a 22 gauge 50 foot at Monoprice for $88 though.
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...ormat=2&style=

If you want to compare 10 meter cables of the same gauge there's the 24 gauge 10 meter at BestDeal for $80 (after 50% off)
http://www.bestdealcables.com/Detail.aspx?ItemID=165

and the 24 gauge 10+ meter at Monoprice for $38

skip bestdealcables unless you want to throw money out the window. Monoprice should be your only stop for AV cables. There are posts over at AVS with members doing intensive tests regarding cables and boxes offered by monoprice, specifically their HDMI cables with runs of 50' with no video degradation.

Here is one link with the switcher and the run. There are plenty more threads over there that I will let you hunt down, but in the long run, it's your money, pay it to whom you want.

Me, i'll stick with monoprice and their excellent cables for a very very good price.

You are taking my questions as challenges to monoprice or support for bestdealcables, which is incorrect. I do not have bias towards one or the other...I was going by the information in front of me. thank you for clearing things up.

I saw there sight and with a name like bestdeals I expected bestdeals. They don't compare to monoprice.

Well I ordered a 50 ft HDMI cable from monoprice. I was impressed with the build quality...definetly made for a long run and in-wall usage. It was pretty stiff, so it wasn't as easy to run behind the wall and ceiling mount (very minor complaint). Quick service and great price. In fact, I paid for 3 day and they shipped it two day.

I got a 25' DVI cable from them last week and I know what you mean about it being stiff cable! They went with larger gauge wire at that length so it's pretty thick. It works just fine too.

Wow, thanks for the recommendations on monoprice. I was looking for some long (50') Toslink and S-Video cables, and was balking at paying $60+ each. I got both for $26.21 shipped at monoprice.

I've used both Monoprice.com and PartsExpress.com in the past (speaker wire) and I think they're both equally good. I ended up ordering from Parts Express the second time around, though.

Was there a specific reason why you went with Parts Express the second time around? Just wondering before I make my final decision.

Thanks.
