DVDR Dual Layer deals?

I've looked around a lot and can't find a good place to monitors deals on DVDR dual layer discs...maybe because the deals are few and far between, but surely there are some sort of "deals" or reasonable prices out there....?

You just missed BestBuy's sale last week: 10 DL Verbatim discs for $19.99 with free shipping.

I read the overall prices might be dropping, but the number of deals seem few and far between.

When should this price drop occur? After XMAS?

Also I've heard Verbatim is a good DL DVDR, just want to make sure that is true...

Damn! At those prices, there's not really an advantage to using them. I'm more than happy to use 2 DVD+/-R's for 20 cents a pop.

^ I think that's the very reason DL isn't dropping fast enough. There's no market for it to do so. If you can use 2 discs at 1/4 the sale price, there won't be demand for DL. And with HD-DVD/Blu-Ray coming (I've already heard about a burner), I would seriously doubt DL will be anything but a small note in digital media history.

I could be wrong.

RiData's ain't supposed to be very hot.

The BEST deal was the Staples clearance on the Verbatim's. I picked up every one I found on that deal. They were $5 each. Verbatim's are the best you can find for dual layer.

Yes, they may be a footnote, but I'll use them while I can at this point.

Amazon.com the other day had like a 12 hour sell for 25 at $30. Just keep looking because they will only go down in price.

The "best" deal you found was $5 each?

Did you miss the $2 each sale I was talking about?

I believe he's referring to $5.50 for a 3-pack which comes out to $1.83 each

Si. Exactly. I bought 7 of them, I believe. Should hold me over until HD comes out.
