Run, don't walk, as OfficeDepot.com is currently having a 60% off Philips DVD (& CD-R) media, if you are lucky to live in a zipcode where there are some left. Check the thread at FW.

Isn't Philips hit-or-miss as to what DVD media you'll get? Some is great, some stinks.

Office Depot has 50 pack DVD-R Maxells for sale for $17.99. No rebates or anything. Sale good through 7/29.

Works for me but I'm not sure I want to buy a spindle-less package. Isn't there a lot more chance of disc scratching?

this is a nice deal if they're made in japan. 8x will burn at 16x and it looks like 3 different color discs.
