YourMusic.Com Boxed Set Matrices.
The general consensus seems to be that the best deals on YourMusic.Com are the boxed sets, since those normally cannot be purchased as enrollment selections in the normal BMG deals.
In the interest of finding out what the best deals are on yourmusic.com, I've compiled a matrix of the boxed sets, their prices and a comparison of the prices vs. the Amazon.Com CD Club pricing (the best online competitor I've found that isn't fly-by-night).
Here are the notes I put on page 1:
I don't really plan to update this on an ongoing basis; it was a onetime thing just for shits and giggles....

These matrices display the savings on boxed sets from YourMusic.Com. I checked several online vendors for pricing, including BestBuy.Com, DeepDiscountCD.Com, and CDConnection.Com, and found that almost universally, the best online prices came from Amazon.Com, if you signed up for their CD Club, so rather than expend extra effort for higher-priced vendors, I opted to use Amazon as a "best case" comparison.
Even then, YourMusic.Com beat Amazon by a large margin on the vast majority of titles.
The pricing I've provided from Amazon for comparison is current as of February 5, 2005. I only used pricing from Amazon itself (or its CD Club where cheaper). I did not use pricing from the "used and new from $x.xx" affiliated sellers.
Yes, you may be able to get this merchandise cheaper by buying used merchandise on Ebay, Half.Com, or Amazon, but that's not really a fair comparison. I wanted to compare new merchandise from an established vendor only.
The number in parentheses behind the title is the number of discs in the boxed set (or at least the number that YourMusic.Com uses to calculate their price). The leftmost column of prices is from Amazon.Com; the second column is YourMusic.Com's price; the third column is the raw dollar savings;
and the last column lists the YourMusic.Com price as a percentage of Amazon's price (lower means greater savings).
NOTE: The YourMusic.Com prices assume you got in at the special $4.99 rate, not the $5.99 rate. If you missed out on that deal, you will still
see extensive savings, just not as much. Add $1 per disc to the YourMusic.Com total.
The YourMusic.Com prices include shipping, but not sales tax (where applicable). With Amazon, usually if your order is $50 or more, shipping is free,
so the overall price comparison is valid.
The first listing lists all of the box sets in semi-alphabetical order.
The second listing is sorted by raw dollar savings, highest first.
The last listing is sorted by percentage, lowest first (greatest savings).
I hope you find this useful!

I agree 100% about the boxsets being a bargain. I just saved $80 on the Miles Davis Quintet, 1965-1968 six disc box! They just added that plus the Complete Bitches Brew, Complete In a Silent Way, and Miles Davis/John Coltrane Complete Columbia Recordings- too bad I already own those.
One nice thing I've found is every couple of days, click to view the "Just Added" CDs and sort by "Just Added" - this gets you a list of everything they recently got in so if you've been waiting for them to add, for example, Derek & The Dominos - Layla (SACD Hybrid) you can go there and see within a couple of pages that they now carry it.
Also, another great deal are the deluxe two disc sets. I just received Sonic Youth - Dirty Deluxe and Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes Deluxe for $10 each. It's less of a sting to double dip if you're only spending $10 instead of the suggested $25-30 they're normally asking.
BTW, I just tried searching by album title for "DVD" and "Deluxe"- those terms worked in the past to get me a list of all the albums with bonus DVDs or all the Deluxe editions but they don't seem to work any more.
Anyone else seeing this too?
p.s. I downloaded the pdf file to my computer but it said it's not a supported type or it's corrupted. I've got Adobe Reader 6.0 and the file I downloaded is only 398 bytes.

Anyone else seeing this too? Also, the CD/DVD sets are no longer $4.99, they're $9.98. For instance, look at the Tom Petty live set; I have it in my music queue for $4.99, but it now shows up on the website for $9.98... glad I got in on a couple of them before this deal disappeared! (Got the Pat Benatar, Tom Petty, and Crowded House CD/DVD sets.)

I got the SRV three CD+DVD for $14.97. It seems that for a while they weren't charging for the DVDs but have since corrected for that oversite as I see that the same set is now listed for $19.96
I wish that I'd searched for others that included DVDs while that was still going on but, at the time, I thought that it was just their policy rather than an oversite. Oh well, still an awesome deal!

I think it's based on time
I noticed that a lot of the "2-CD" sets [1CD+1DVD] which used to be 4.99 went up to 9.98 as well. But then I noticed that the "Just Added" Bee Gees Greatest Hits [1CD+1DVD] comes up at 4.99. So I think it might just be for a limited time before they charge for the DVD.

It might be wise to double check prices as the number of discs per set increase. I just noticed the Mercury Blues 'n Rhythm Story is more expensive here than elsewhere, including the BMG Club, where it sometimes goes for less than $10 (making it about $25 with s&h).

Damn! All those "free DVD" deals are gone now. I only got to take advantage of a few.

My Tom Petty shipped at $4.99 even though it was listed as $9.98 on the website. I think if you already had it in your queue, then you're cool....
