I need to buy acoustimass speaker cables at a good price if possible. I already have the plugs to splice on to them. Anyone know of a an source for these?

IIRC the speaker cables are simple 18 gauge lamp cord. Which is plenty considering the drivers.

Is there a special "acousticmass" cable? Perhaps it is directional. Or maybe it uses an expensive, oxygen free insulation. I'm not going to get into the BS that this industry expounds.

Actually I thought the cables were something non-standard. Actually I believe it is just the lamp cord you mention with the plugs spliced on, and I have plenty of those. Thank for pointing it out.

And yeah, I know all about how the Bose stuff ain't no good, but it works for me.

Just get yourself a spool of Acoustic Research 14 gauge speaker wires. They are much cheaper than Monster Cables and do a better job than lamp wires

I have four Acoustimass wires I have no need for, if the site would permit me to post that fact. They came with a set of the new tiny cubes I bought for a HT system but decided not to use. One end is an RCA and the other is a four pin (horizontal) plug. Two (light grey) seem to be 50 feet each and two (black) seem to 20 feet each. The two (speaker) plugs are cut off the black ones because I was making some changes but the plugs are still with them.

I sold the cubes & stands on ebay but, at the time, forgot about the wires. I was going to ebay them as well but never got around to it so if a site member could benefit maybe we could work out a swap.

Don't know what they are worth & I don't really want any money but maybe we can do a trade for DVD's or something like that. (If you have TV sets, there are some titles I could consider)

I used some generic bulk wire when wiring my room. A week later, Monster sued me. Be warned.

Your with the grey connectors are for a series I system & do not work with the newer speakers. They have RCA connctions on both ends. The newer series uses spring terminals on the speakers for bare wire and RCA connections on the opposite end for the Acoustimass Module.

You can slice any 18 ga speaker wire in-line with the original wire(s). Striped (no-smooth) wire is negative.

My grey wires have an RCA on one end and a four hole connector on the other. The center two female holes are square, the end holes are round.

Same for the black wires.

They came with the smaller cubes and the reason I cut the ends off the two black wires was because I had two of the older Bose cubes that received bare wires.

Sorry, I missread your description. You have Jewel Cube Speakers. They come with the following Lifestyle 20/30/40/50/35 or 48 systems. They (Jewel Cube connectors/ends) are not interchangeable with the Acoustimass speakers. All Bose speaker wire lengths that are included with a set/system are 20' for the fronts & 50' for the rears. You can order a pre-wire adapter that connects to the bass module & Jewel Cube adapters that connect to the cubes from Bose that will allow you to use standard speaker wire.

Thanks for clearing that up. I know little about Bose but figured if it was Bose wire he wanted and the plugs did not fit his speakers, he wrote he had plugs to splice on.
