I just ordered a year of Fangoria for less than $20 which is a fantastic deal.
Communication so far has been great and the feedback of the seller looks excellent. The only thing left is to see that first issue arrive.

I've picked up my last 3 years of Fango from ebay at rock bottom prices with no problems (elenahume?)

I also just picked up a 3 year script to Maximum PC for, like, 7 bucks.

Ebay is definitely the way to go when you can't get them free.

I've gotten a 3 year sub to Men's Health in the past for less than $10...not too shabby.

Thanks, I didn't even think of eBay for a Fango sub. It was indeed elenahume selling a 1 year sub for $18.99 from "Around the Clock Bargains" for those interested. Seems like the price has gone up recently elsewhere.

I think I ordered a 3 year sub to Entertainment Weekly for $15, which isn't bad for a weekly magazine.

This must have been awhile ago. Now it seems that the cheapest price for EW on ebay is $25/year.

If anyone finds it for cheaper, please let me know!

Ebay is great. The reason the deals exist is because the magazines (especially the higher-circulation ones) make a lot more money off ad sales than of subs. And the higher the circulation, the more they can charge their advertisers. So they authorize resellers (which also include folks like PCH and Magcentral) to sell subscriptions at cheap prices (or, more accurately, they forge the traditional retailer model, where a reseller can buy the subscription for much cheaper because they're effectively buying in bulk).

The major warnings are that there are a few scammers and unreliable folks out there (but that's what the ebay ratings are for), and that it does take a while for the sub to start. But if you're not in a rush, it's worth it.

I have gotten every one of these magazines free by simply keeping an eye on the free magazine posts found here on DVDTalk.

not all peaches and cream. be wary.

I ordered a 5 yr EW sub from Ebay for 50 bucks! It turned into a nightmare!

EW had absolutely no record of the transaction, and I had no way to back up my claim.

At one point they actually made me feel STUPID for ordering a mag off Ebay in the first place,

which looking back on it, I suppose I was.

Remember, if something sounds too good to be true, it IS!!

I've never had problems off ebay. Always the best prices on the mags you can't get for free. Rely on feedback before deciding on a seller.

I too have bought magazines off eBay. I got Outdoor Photographer for 3yrs at $10 and also National Geographic.

Keep watching this forum for free subscriptions. Most of us have subscriptions to FHM/Maxim/Stuff until we die.

I've had one good, and one bad experience. The first went smooth, no problems...the second...lets just say its nine months later and I've yet to see one issue.

Yep. That's the same seller I got Fango from. It's good to hear that you had a good experience.

Also...I second that desire for Rue Morgue at that price.

I suspect that Rue Morgue (and Cemetery Dance) will be hard to come by, as they're small enough that they're not making it on ad rates, but on subscriptions themselves. The smaller market the magazine, the less likely they are to use resellers.

Sounds legit to me. We should question why do magazine subscriptions cost so much, it's just paper. On the other hand we take for granted that broadcast TV, which should be much more expensive to produce is free (at least in the US).

Looking through my latest Maxim or Stuff, over 50% is ads. TV is only about 30% ads, but still 100% free.
And don't worry too much about junk mail, the magazine itself is the junk mail!
