Crossing my fingers they've been credibly restored with new scans. This has been a long awaited disc for me.

Fortunately it's been a couple years since I bought the inferior Blu ray. I can look forward to this better version without regretting the previous purchase.

There've been all sorts of gnashed teeth about what an abomination this disc is due to excessive de-graining.

As someone who's usually pretty fussy about that sort of thing, I honestly think it looks terrific. Admittedly, I've never owned a collection of these shorts, and I'd only ever seen them on TV or VHS many, many, many years prior.

Is it superior to the previous release? I have both now and haven't opened either yet.

I'm still on the fence because it looks to be a 50/50 mix of "Avoid at all costs!" vs "These look great!' - Guess it's time I get out the movie BRs, on which they're bonus features, and watch the animated shorts again to see if I really like them enough to see for myself...
