Everytime I think I’m out, they pull me back in!

Ha! the day after I see him live to watch the flick for $80. Well, as I've said in another thread, Kevin has entertained me for many a year. I am happy tossing my bucks his way.

Too bad there’s not a package with all three films as I don’t own the first two (well I might still have them on DVD somewhere but I’d like to upgrade).

Agreed, even with my username I don't own a Kev flick on bluray. They were some of the first DVDs I purchased so there's a nostalgia feel plus my CLERKS DVD is autographed by everyone but Jeff and Kev.

Yeah, too bad they couldn't do a 4K set for the trilogy (not that the first one would look all that great in 4K).

Yeah, I hadn't thought of it, but I guess all my KS stuff is still on DVD wait I just remembered I bought the Blu-ray special edition of Mallrats. But all the rest is still DVD.

I'll be down for this on Blu.

I only have Mallrats and Zack and Miri Make a Porno on Blu-ray as far as Kevin Smith films.

I used to own it but got rid of it before it gained a lot of value. Kinda regret that I sold it now.

At least the price is reasonable. But I don't like this trend of 4K only being available in an exclusive steelbook. (The Bob's Burgers Movie was the same way, but that one was 34.99).

And exclusively at a store that wants to kill physical media.

Everyone has a crap selection of physical media now. It's not that they are trying to kill it, but the consumer has spoken and said they no longer want them. If there was a demand, I'm sure Best Buy and friends would stock more.

I don’t even bother going into their stores anymore. I just mail-ordered this along with I The Jury in 3D which I KNOW won’t be in any stores here.

The consumer, after years of buying tons of DVDs, finally figured out that they would only watch most of the stuff they bought once, and that they didn't want to have a massive collection of DVDs and blu-rays in their ever-shrinking apartments. And, around that time, streaming services came along, and they provided a better option for most people.

At this point, the people buying DVD and blu-ray are mostly hardcore collectors, and it's not worthwhile for stores like Walmart, Target, and Best Buy to dedicate a lot of shelf space to a product line with low margins that has a small and selective audience.

Precisely.

It's a seventy year-old movie with a list price of $50. If it was stocked at Walmart, Target, or Best Buy, it would just sit on the shelf collecting dust. There are probably only a couple hundred people out there who will buy it. Something like that is better off being sold by online retailers or specialty b&m stores in major metropolitan areas where it can actually get into the hands of the people who want it.

Why would they? It's a dead format.

Yep, dead since 1953. Who would ever want to watch a movie that old anyways?

The first Clerks was shot in black and white, the other 2 should have been also.

I'm going next week. How was the Q&A. I always find these tend to be a mix of one or two really good questions and the rest: "Who would win in a fight between you and a salsa shark?" :P

Can't remember exactly but not just random fan boy questions. Kevin did basically say, he usually only gets through about 3 or 4 questions at the most because he's not short winded. The tour manager sat on the side of the stage flashing him cards, 15 min left, 10 min left, 5 min left, 5 min over, 10 min over... he ended up around 45 minutes over and got through 4 questions. I did the VIP meet and greet, he signed and then picture with him which was after everything so it was a long night.
