I went with the StudioCanal 4K set. Just finished this one up and it has never looked/sounded better. They really do a great job integrating the beast into the actual frames it's in. I was so used to seeing it the way it always looked, but always looked a little off, but now looks like it belongs in-frame. It looks less like an armature and less jittery due to the proper color space it is in now. I'm off to go watch the the new interview with Christophe Gans. Remember, the 4K disc is obviously region free, but the two BDs included are region locked. Oh, and the subtitles rocked, as well.

OrbitDVD came through nicely with this order.

Ah. Gotcha. Same transfer as the Metropolitan disc, right?

EDIT: Never mind. I saw dex14's picture after I asked that. :blush: I tried ordering the Studio Canal release from Amazon UK but it's one of the few items they won't ship to PR. :(

So, just to reiterate, the Blu-ray in the upcoming 4K set is remastered and much better than Shouts, correct?

It should be. It's remastered from the 4K source. Also, the upcoming set is also from Shout. The one that is currently out now is the UK import from Studio Canal.

Ok. I’ll just swap out Blu-ray in Shouts 2-disc older release with this new remaster. And, keep extras from older release.

The SHOUT! FACTORY edition seems to be a 3-disc set. I guess they aren't including the theatrical cut (unrestored) BD.

The Shout Factory 4k set is out today. As long as there are no problems and the reviews are good I'll buy it.

I put the Blu-ray in for a few minutes and it looked gorgeous. Certainly better than when I saw on dvd many moons ago. But the costumes and the lighting really stuck out. Very nice job. 👍🏻

What a bad ass fucking movie. Looked great and the French Atmos track was booming.
