I've significantly scaled back my physical media purchases, but I'll be getting this one. Probably whatever the steelbook ends up being.

Same here. It depends on the artwork for the steelbook, though.

It looks like this :

But it's either sold out or not up for preorder yet. I hope it's the latter.

Eh, I may get this cheap. With the second part coming out in the next few years, there will be several releases of this.

Yeah, this is one of the reasons to get a steelbook- because we know it’s a barebones release so the nice physical presentation makes up for the lack of extras while we wait for a better edition with Part 2 included.

That Walmart set actually looks neat but it’s only Blu-ray so I’m not sure. Maybe settle for that now and buy the eventual complete set to buy 4K.

Interesting that is not a "only at BB" steelbook. If that is the case, then they will likely make a lot more of them and put them at a better price at a later point which is almost always the case with steelbooks like this. I may wait this one out...

Yeah that's weird cause it should be exclusive like Target & Walmart have their own exclusive and with no Steelbook listed. The text will probably be updated to BB exclusive.

Target Exclusive looks slick.

Might get that or the standard 4K UHD.

I don't buy too much on 4K physical, but this will be one. Lots of extras. Doubt I will get anything too fancy in terms of packaging as the two movie set is inevitable.

Re: Dune (2021) -- 4K and BD -- 1/11/22

What's the Target exclusive?

Just the packaging? (Which looks like it's a slipcase with a round window cut out of it showing an image from the case inside.)

It does look nice, but I think I want this in 4K.

And I might just wait until part two comes out to buy it in case there's some kind of SE with both. Then again, I thought they might do that for It, and it never happened.

Looks thick like a book type of packaging. Hopefully they updated soon.

Didn't the home 3D market go bust a long time ago? I kind of wish they would make software available for 4K TVs to enable them to show that format.

Apparently not. But US is few and far between. Tougher and tougher overseas too. But still kicking the cobwebs for now…

A representative from LG recently responded – at least three times – to similar sentiments posted on one it’s Facebook posts, “stay tuned.” It was brought up in the 3D thread last week, and might pop up again if more details emerge some day.

And if 3D truly went bust, I doubt I would’ve been able to order the 3D versions of BLACK WIDOW and SHANG-CHI from Japan two weeks ago (admittedly at a hefty premium), or help fund the 3D Archive’s ongoing restorations of vintage shows for Blu-ray (with more on the way), or grab two 3D discs from Vinegar Syndrome (with more in that pipeline, too), or buy the occasional title like Dune that Warner still sees fit to bestow upon us in North America. It may no longer be the next big thing, but it never really was anyway, and now it’s the collector’s niche it was always destined to be. 😉

active or passive plastic glasses with greyish color lenses and black frames. active you have to turn on and sync to TV, passive you don't. same output: True Blu 3D.
