Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
I do love Arrow for the work they do, but I'm becoming increasingly hesitant to buy their releases as the last 2 or 3 I've bought have come up on Amazon Prime for streaming. I know in most cases you don't get the extras and so forth, but it's still a kick in the pants.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
I went looking for the Apartment release at my local Fry's - for some reason, they seem to get all the Arrow releases. I browsed their shelves, and sure enough, they had almost every Arrow release you could imagine, even some out of print limited edition ones. But alas, no Apartment...

The UK edition is Region Free, and still available as far as I know. People were ordering it and it was being shipped after they got their US cancellation emails.
The more prominent ones seem to have run out of their allocations already, so the off the beaten track ones may still have a copy or two. Ordering from the UK is probably the only option at this point, unless you wait for a possible book/case-less release later in the new year. |

Finally received my copy of Between Night and Dawn.
Starting to salivate over The Apartment set. |
Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
For those that missed the UK edition when it went out of print -- or, like me, had it go missing in the mail or into the hands of an unkind neighbor -- Arrow is releasing their special edition of DEEP RED (minus the CD) in the U.S. on April 10. Bit pricey, considering the UK 3-disc could be had from Amazon for under $25 US in the early running, but maybe it will drop.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
Wes Craven's "Last House on the Left" (1972) is getting the Arrow LE treatment. 2 disc Blu-Ray set with a good slate of new extras, and most (but not all) of the old extras.

Olive Films released a version of Dark Blue back in 2015.

I've been wanting to see these since VHS days, but I could never get my hands on the two that Paramount released (Lake and Evil). Has The Vampire Doll ever been released on home video in the U.S.? I can't find any trace of it if it has. |

I just checked this out from the library on DVD (haven't watched it yet) and Arrow is releasing this on BD in the UK -- early Olivier Assayas:

Not sure. I know CC has done quite a few of Assaya's films, but don't know if they have access to his entire catalog. |

I think it was discussed already, but they will be putting out Cold Water eventually. |

Just a heads up for those wanting to pre-order Last House on the Left, currently Amazon UK has it for a much better pre-order price. With shipping to the US it's roughly $34 converted as opposed to $50 plus tax from Amazon US. A fairly significant savings. As Arrow always does of late it'll be the exact same set except for the UK one will have the 18 certificate on the cover.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
I hope people got their orders in for the limited edition Cat O'Nine Tails. Some places are already canceling pre-orders before release. It's going to be sold out.
|
Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
I paid $34 shipped from the UK. It's fully stocked on Amazon UK. May be region locked, but so what.
EDIT - just checked that other site and they have it listed that it's region A/B, but C is not tested, so this would be a no-brainer for folks that have missed out. |

A review and screenshots for this now sold-out set. Arrow Video woefully underestimated demand in the States.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
Arrow posted a few more releases scheduled out in the next couple of months -- and since we were just talking about it in the Abel Ferrara thread in the movies section - one of my favorite of his is getting a restored in 4k edition:

The Bloodthirsty Set was included in Target's recent 20% Off media sale, and was just under $32 before the discount. Can't speak to the movies, but might be worth holding off until one of the Arrow sales (Arrow, Family Video, Barnes & Noble). I'm not convinced it'll sell out very quickly, although my own interest in the set is high.

Re: The Official Arrow Blu-ray Thread
Bloodthirsty Trilogy is now $27.99 at Deep Discount, part of their 15% off sci-fi/horror sale. Target's 20% off price last week was a bit better, but as mentioned it might be worth holding off for bigger discounts elsewhere down the road.
