Love the film as well. A friend introduced it to me a long while back via the Anchor Bay DVD and I've repeatedly upgraded it ever since

I'm glad one of my posts here actually helped someone!

Doing my best to post information here as I search it out.

Now I’m extra appreciative. The Django release has been canceled and recalled due to ongoing rights issues. I got my copy yesterday.

I was unfamiliar with Japanese ero guro films before seeing Inferno of Torture, a shockingly violent and perverse tale of tattooed geisha girls. Comes out Tuesday from Arrow Video in a passable transfer from Toei.

I've been looking forward to this release ever since it was announced.

Spent years tracking down the long out-of-print German DVD of the film. Ran into it only once on Ebay but passed on it because the price was a bit more than I wanted to pay at the time.

iTunes has a huge Arrows Films sale. Almost the entire catalog is $2.99 each.

I am so reluctant to go in this thread bc all I buy and care about is Arrow. They put out much better quality everything than most distributors out there. It should still have its own fucking thread!

So are you going to burst into flames if you read posts about other distributors?

I'm reluctant to do any work to post information in this thread because you literally come in here just to post your point over and over. It's getting exhausting to just constantly look at.

You already posted in Feedback Forum, speaking to Admins about getting what you want to happen.

What do you expect any of us non-Admins to do? I (and others) can keep posting information and making the best of what is given to us right now or do what you are doing.

I hope no one here falls for Edge of the Axe, a latter-day dog from a great director of '70s horror.

I have to admit that I dug Edge of the Axe, but I am a cheap date for slashers.

Dude, I had maybe 2 posts in this thread and the thread in feedback which I had here but got moved by admins. Let’s not get carried away. All I’m saying is there should be dedicated, I made one, it stays open, it doesn’t, oh well, end of story. And didn’t you upgrade, like a month or so ago and didn’t I comment on seeing you in new Blu-ray bought thread? So c’mon noob! ;)

I've never seen Edge of the Axe. Any reason why some folks don't enjoy it?

All I require from most Slasher films are they be as fun as Blood Rage (1987)

Blue Underground released a trailer for their upcoming 4K UHD of Daughters of Darkness (1971)

I bought the digital version of Edge of the Axe a few months ago when it was also on sale for $3 and I have to admit that I kind of liked it.

I bought my first 4K player a few months ago. I've had a Blu-Ray player since 2007-2008.

That thread you spoke of has posts of my Blu-Ray purchases going back to 2014.

For anyone who ordered The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue from Synapse, copies of the Steelbook have already been shipped out.

I spoke to a few people on Instagram who already received their copies.

I know Don May Jr. mentioned he'd be shipping them out before September but I wasn't expecting this soon!

Yup. If you see something in Informed Delivery coming from United Shipping Solutions outta San Francisco, this is what it is. Mine's estimated to be here on Monday, although I sure wouldn't mind if it got here sooner.

Good to know. I was going to wait and order from Diabolik but I decided to go ahead and order directly from Synapse since they're shipping out this early.

Do you have the BU disc to compare it to?

The Steel looks great, and I always appreciate a soundtrack packed in- but with a run of 6000, I'm hoping this will be around for a while so I can pick it up when it's more financially convenient.

I do! Even by the standards of the day, the original release was lackluster, so I'm expecting this to be night-and-day.

Every other steelbook that Synapse has put out wound up getting an individual release, so I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens here too.

DVD Talk's own Stuart Galbraith IV is doing the commentary for Warning from Space! Nice to see that Arrow's relationship with Daiei Films' library isn't stopping with Gamera.

Yeah, but it was a pretty crummy, DNR-infected transfer.

No surprise but Blue Underground will be releasing Vigilante (1983) on 4K UHD later this year.

Now Blue Underground is thrilled to present VIGILANTE in a pristine new restoration, scanned in 4K 16-bit from the original 35mm camera negative, with Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio, fully loaded with exclusive new and archival Extras!

I can't believe I've never encountered Warning from Space before now. I've probably seen the budget DVD with the goofy starfish on the front and passed it by a dozen times, but after looking into the details I'm absolutely interested in getting this.

...and my review of The New York Ripper, also in Ultra HD.

Re: MVD, Synapse, and Blue Underground Releases Masterthread

Just received my copy of Ripper from Family Video. Got last years LE set, not the UHD, as I was mainly (only) buying it for the De Masi soundtrack CD.

Gory slashers are one of my least favorite genres, but I'll give the movie a spin soon just to take in the early 80's NYC location work.

Re: MVD, Synapse, and Blue Underground Releases Masterthread

Since the Vestron Video Thread is closed, I wasn't sure where to put this.

Their newest releases in the line, Little Monsters (1989) & Shivers (1975) are being carried by Walmart B&M stores. I'd check Online Store Inventory first before venturing out.

Two stores in my area showed them In-Stock but only one store had both on the shelves.

These are Vestron Video's first releases in almost 2 years!

Re: MVD, Synapse, and Blue Underground Releases Masterthread

The limited edition UHD set for Daughters of Darkness looks absolutely phenomenal. An amazingly crisp and lovely 4K presentation of 35mm film, the new transfer is amazing. Blows away the old BD. There's also a big difference between the UHD and the included BD, which is struck from the same new transfer. My hat is off to Blue Underground. The lenticular slipcover looks great as well.
