Usual Suspects...extra-laden Blu-ray edition anywhere?

I really want a whole package, that it deserves of course. Wondering if a nice Blu-ray with great a/v and loaded with extras. Please tell me. Thanks. Would be great for Criterion to get hands on...

Nope, and with what happened to Singer and Spacey, I doubt we’ll see anything extensive anymore.

ugh. others can talk new stuff and there is vintage stuff, i know was more on SE DVD. port those, fresh visual make-over, nothing to do with them. sell a great product...

That won’t be happening at this point. Criterion wouldn’t touch this with a 10 foot pole. I have that SE DVD, but I have no desire to revisit it again anytime soon.

That's... An interesting way to phrase their situations, I'll give you that.

100% the former.

Who would have thought that Stephen Baldwin would only be the third creepiest person involved with this movie?

Creeps or not it’s still a great film. I recently watched it and it still holds up.

Pretty much everyone knows, and I don't feel the need to have to do a recap every time we talk about them.

But for brevity's sake - no, since both Singer and Spacey have been accused of multiple counts of sexual abuse, I don't think we'll be seeing any more projects or older ones being brought back up for anything new, save for maybe a remaster and if that.

Oh I agree. I just meant that saying "what happened to..." suggests that neither party bears any responsibility for their own, shall we say, controversies. Like you, I don't think it's worth getting into the details, though.

I don’t think “those 2” would have much bearing on whether Criterion released this film. They’re only interested in the films; they’re no strangers to controversy. I mean, look at all the Roman Polanski releases under their belt.

Bare-bones Blu-ray + Collector Edition DVD will basically provide you with the best Special Edition currently available.

Mediocre disc, but a nice collectible.

what makes it collectible? Still barebones. No reason this can’t get an SE. Like Polanski, who can’t even come to the US bc of what he did. And that is probably more heinous. But, I love Polanski movies. Before and now. It doesn’t mean I want to meet him or shake his hand, but he’s a great story teller. Ghost Writer one of my favs. An overlooked gem imo. No reason they can’t work around, arguably, thee best actor in this, and his Oscar proves it. And no Director. So what. I’m sure Stephen has time and there’s vintage stuff. Just polish the aud/vis. It will sell. One here.

Re: Usual Suspects...extra-laden Blu-ray edition anywhere?

Thinking about it, the only way I can see anything new happen is if Christopher McQuarrie produces something, with his heavy input. That would seem more realistic now. My guess nothing is being done to it since it’s more than likely Spacey and Singer still get money from it.

I still like the film but agree no one’s going to make a special edition, even if physical media were still a studio priority.

Barebones Blu-Ray + Special Edition DVD in a two-disc case = problem solved.
