The Godfather Blu-Ray box sets - Which do you have and what's the differences?

There appears to be 3 versions currently on the market. The middle one is the oldest one from 2008 The other 2 appear to be 2019 releases. Seriously, I would love to know the main differences between the 3? Is it the transfer? I would assume the bonus material is pretty much the same. Which one would you recommend for an upgrade? The cheapest one right now is the Corleone Legacy edition, but I don't know what makes it really different. |

Honestly, I’d hold off and wait for the 4K release. It’s certainly been talked about recently in articles and other forums. I have that second set with the black cover. I can’t be certain, but I believe that first one has identical content as the black cover one. And the white cover one has an additional extra. Someone else can hopefully confirm.

For the first set:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=2168 No digital codes, and it's the same in audio and transfers. I agree with E Unit in which you should hold off until the U.H.D. release. Who knows when, though. |
Re: The Godfather Blu-Ray box sets - Which do you have and what's the differences?
The on-disc content is exactly the same for all 3 editions you listed.
The only difference between them is the packaging and the "collectible" junk included with it. I think the Corleone Legacy Edition has the most junk included, as pictured in the link above, with the family tree poster, cards, and pictures. If you feel you must have it now, and don't care about the junk, just get whichever one is the cheapest. But otherwise, if you want the best A/V quality, you should wait for the inevitable 4K set. And even then, unless you need it right away, I'd wait a while after it's released, because both the DVD and BD sets ultimately plummeted in price after a while. For example, the BD set has gone as low as $16.99 on Black Friday, and the DVD set as low as $14.99. |

i have all in SteelBook from somewhere, restored and all, but blus inside. The only one i care about is sitting in my DVR. it is The Godfather Epic that HBO showed a couple times and i recorded like 2 or so years ago and saved to this day. said to be a compilation in chronological order, i believe, of I and II. curious. it's 7 hours 11 minutes. hope to get to that before i die...

I have the middle one (oldest), and it’s all I need until they release the combined cuts of 1 and 2.

Very doubtful. Coppola is against it and Paramount is, well Paramount.

Yeah, I don’t expect it. Best we can do is hope HBO gets it back in their rotation at some point.
