I'm tempted to wait on this one until Black Friday.
It comes out in late September and if I hang on for 2 more months, I'm betting we'll be seeing some sales on this one. I don't really need to spend $25+ on it so close to Holidays sales.

When it says Multi-screen Edition, what does that actually mean? Is it just referring to the many ways to watch the Digital Copy? I actually liked it enough I might buy it.

I enjoyed the movie, but will probably just wait for it on Netflix to see it again. Good movie though.

It won’t hit Netflix. Disney’s deal with Netflix expires at the end of this year. Solo wouldn’t come out on Netflix until March 2019. Originally Posted by MLBFan24

When it does hit streaming it will be on Disney’s streaming service.

Well damn, that sucks. Currently, I have no plans to subscribe to another streaming service.Originally Posted by DJariya

This movie is loaded with extras compared to TFA, R1 and TLJ releases. Maybe because it bombed in the theater, they put alittle more effort into the Home Video Release knowing strong sales could put the movie in the black. Still an underrated SW movie that so many friends I know just skipped because of TLJ, and I keep telling them they are two different entities. People have to stop comparing the Saga and Standalones, as it seems like many fans fall like one and don't like the other.

Yet, people can think whatever they want, they all have the words "Star Wars" in the the title so they certainly should be compared.
But, for me, it's not a matter of comparison. Solo (A Cash Grab Story) was just a bad, unfunny, unneccessary movie; probably because the massive reshoots were rushed in order to make the spring release date. Rogue One is my favorite of the last 4 films, as that was well written and acted, and told a story that we didn't already know.
The OCD completist in me will probably pick this up on the release date and I will give it another watch. The Last Jedi definitely improved with a second and third viewing, though I still hate a lot of what Rian Johnson did to the franchise. There's a few nails in the coffin already so Episode IX has a lot riding on it.

I want to get the Target 4K version (the one with the art book, not the one with the red Falcon), but am wary about prebooking right now because I'm thinking Target may offer another $5 gift card with order. I know that was the case with Rogue One...did they do that on Last Jedi as well?

I'm just saying that the standalone movies have more of a take it or leave it vibe (which is exactly the way you feel as you love R1 and didn't love Solo). Where the Saga movies connect, so there is a narrative that one movie has to jive with the other. That is why I was telling my friends to ignore how they felt about TLJ and see Solo as it's own entity, just like R1. I told them if there is a movie to boycott because they hated TLJ, it is Episode 9.Originally Posted by goblin23

Steelbook only in 4K? This might break my Star Wars Steelbook habit. All of my Star Wars BD's are in Steelbooks, but I'm not going to spring for a 4K edition when I don't have a 4K TV or anything that will play it. I realize that I would still get a standard BD, but I'm not overpaying for it just so I can keep up the collection.
Maybe I'll just sit on it for a while and see if the price drops. Wasn't really a huge fan of Solo in the first place.

I’m getting the 3D steelbook from Zavvi, since I have the last few in steelbooks also. As expected, I didn’t see this on the theater and given how bad the presentation of Last Jedi was I’m glad not many others went to see it either.

I will be buying this, the movie was great, after you get past the first 20 min or so...he became Hans Solo the more the movie went out.
Solo got panned by people who had not even seen it.
I hope the do an "Old Ben" movie, that would be really cool to see him take on Darth Mall again.

That Target exclusive cover makes it look like Han is Donald Glover.
Gonna wait 'til Black Friday on this one.

I enjoyed this a lot, wish there was a commentary on there, but they probably thought it was better to avoid dredging up any dirty laundry.

I like the cover for Target’s exclusive but I want the standard release to match the rest of my Star Wars releases.

The laserdiscs of the 3 original movies retailed for $49.99 EACH. The prior releases retailed for $69.99 each, though that was unusually expensive.

It seemed like for a long time new releases were like $19.99 first week. It seems like $22.99 has grown to be a more common price now for Blu-ray’s.

There are hardly ever release week discounts for anything anymore. However most films will be discounted to $10-$15 within the first month. Only suckers buy movies at release.
Disney releases generally don't get that low except for Black Friday, but there are still better deals to be had if you wait. I got Black Panther for 17.99 at Target within the first month of release.
