I doubled checked by sending an email to Diabolik. very quick response. they said, the "backorder" is just a placeholder for preorders and that the set has not sold out as of yet. with only 5,000 supposedly being produced, glad we jumped.

really? That’s pretty good. Do they get direct from distributor? Are they in US? I don’t even remember. But I simply cannot wait for this release. Little bummed only 2K restoration and not 4K, but I hope to god better than that Australian pos Blu I got with terrible visual. And the SD only I got on Vudu blows as well. I want to really see this gruesome and in the end/beginning beautiful stuff and not just bc of Bellucci, but the romance they had. I didn’t even know who Cassel was then. Didn’t even know him in Brotherhood of Wolf. I think I really only discovered him in Black Swan. I sadly haven’t and really want to see the others.

What’s difference anyway between 2K and 4K? 2 will still look damn good snd crisp on this Blu, right?

2k and 4k refer to the number of pixels wide the scanned film image is. Either one will be downscaled for blu-ray as blu-ray resolution is slightly less than 2k. There's an argument to be made that a well downscaled 4k scan will look better than a downscaled 2k scan, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Well, whenever I get it, it will be bliss and I’m sure much better than dvd, which is only medium I saw and loved whole movie on. The streaming and current Blu-ray is crap. I paid, it’s reserved, so all that matters. Is this on Amazon.uk? I can’t seem to find it.

The easiest way to find something on Amazon is to look up the disc on that "other site". They always have the Amazon link if one exists in the title info.

If I watch nothing else this weekend, I will watch this. Perhaps the 2x with each version. Watch those extras. Can’t wait to break into this set. It could become one of my favs of all-time.

Irreversible...this is gonna be so good. Of course that one scene in the tunnel bothers me, but it definitely fits the brutality of 2nd half (shown first of course), but the movie is just so original, so raw, with so much emotion. More like emotional roller coaster, but absolutely brilliant piece of celluloid. And those extras sound so good and so lengthy. This was the set I never realized I needed more. This will be viewed this weekend. Perhaps both versions back to back. I’m sure I won’t love the straight cut, but am curious.

And, what a beautiful set...

Holy fuckballs! I only saw first 10 minutes, want to really get into this this weekend, but it looks the best I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait for it all!
