just a head's up - Disney is now upgrading your digital codes for the UHD streaming versions - if you already redeemed the code, just give them a quick email via Disney Movie Anytime or call their customer service phone number 1-855-347-3722 - and it's changed over.

....if you bought the 4k Blu-ray. If you bought the normal Blu-ray they are not upgrading your code to UHD.

I guess this poses another question, if future Disney UHD discs with codes will redeem in UHD for streaming. I hope so. I'm guessing this move may be because Apple is now upgrading all HD versions for free.

Disney is the only studio who is not doing the $19.99 = HD and 4k option on iTunes. The other majors are. I think POTC5 is the next 4k release.

At this point, we kinda need to wait for the ATV4K to come out so we can see what's going on. VUDU only has 100 or so films in UHD, some of which I own in iTunes, so I'll be curious if they give me the 4k option or not.

okay, I sent a request to upgrade my Guardians of the Galaxy 2 digital copy to UHD via this page: https://www.disneymoviesanywhere.com/contact

There aren't any other UHD 4k Blu-rays released by Disney are there?

They've upgraded my Vudu digital copy of GotG2 to UHD.

So if I redeemed my code through DMA already, will I still have the 4K version? I don't have a 4K TV to check

If you don't have a 4K TV, you can go to Vudu on your computer and it will say if you have UHD or just HDX. Don't see the point of these digital copies anyways, I would've traded mine but had to redeem to it get the rewards points. But I guess I'll end up getting them to fix it anyways.

Thanks for that info. Mine was just showing as the HDX version so I gave them a quick buzz and now it's also showing the UHD version available.

Just to add a little more information.

If you didn't sell your digital code, in order to get the digital version in 4K UHD (when you purchase the 4K UHD disc), you have to redeem it on Disney Movies Anywhere and then link it to your Vudu account through DMA. Then you will have access to the UHD version on your Vudu account.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - BR / UHD (yes UHD) Aug. 22

I somehow missed the digital code only redeeming in HDX from UHD Disc I bought some weeks ago. Did all the above mentioned but after foolishly purchasing the UHD copy off VUDU on top of all this (stupid, I know). Contacted both ViDU and Disney, hoping for a refund from VUDU (wishful thinking I’m guessing?) or at least a credit from Disney. And yes, my copy was linked to Disney Anywheree (shows up when I log in to my account). *Sigh*

Found my redemption code, so hopefully this gets rectified.

Re: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 - BR / UHD (yes UHD) Aug. 22

And I just now got around to redeeming my Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 UHD code. It wouldn't redeem on MA. Prompted me to redeem on VUDU. Came in HD only. I called and they told me if it was still "Disney" Movies Anywhere they could have pushed the UHD but now they can't. I would have had to redeem it by 10/9 and today is 10/12 so no go. They did say they will take it as a note and maybe in the future they might be able to upgrade it to UHD but not promised.
